I'm considering getting someone to clean my house in Savage. I'm almost due with my second child and am finding I just can't keep up with everything....and I know it's not going to be any easier once #2 arrives! Any advice on whether to go with a company or an individual? Recommendations? Any idea what the going rate is?

I've used both a service and an individual. Currently we use an individual and I'd never go back to a service. A service typically has set things that they do - they just dust, clean and maybe change the sheets. If all you want is someone to basic cleaning that may work fine for you.
My current gal will actually throw in a couple loads of laundry while she's cleaning. She doesn't have time to do all our laundry since it takes an hour for a load to wash and dry. Usually it is a load with the sheets she changes from the beds and some towels, plus one or two loads of clothes. She doesn't do some things like match all our socks, wash windows, etc.
She charges $85 a week and she's here 3 hours that includes
- cleaning kitchen (wiping down counters, appliances, tables & doing dishes in sink/empty dishwasher)
- cleaning bathrooms
- vacuuming/dusting living spaces
- changes sheets and makes beds
- 2-3 loads of laundry (puts some away in drawers)
- picking up things a bit (she won't pickup kids toys)
- empties all the trash cans and takes the trash out
I don't know what I'd do without her since my husband is deployed with the military, I work part time and mother a 6 year old & a 2 year old. She's worth every penny!!!!
