Hi A.! COngrats opn Number Two!
In order to help, we must know more of what your expectations are. What type of support services do you like? Were you happy with the first hospital? What would you have changed? I am a childbirth advocate/educator/mentor...and here is where I would start in the search for a good healthcare provider.
1. Find a Dr or Midwife who will follow the evidence based research that promotes normal birth. Meaning they will not induced unless medically indicated, will allow you to move about freely in labor and not restrict your ability to cope with your contractions. Someone who is comfortable with you ahving additional support services like a doula. Someone who will agree not to subject you to routine interventions. Who can appreciate that your body knows which position to give birth in, even if it means on your hands and knees or in a upright squatting position. And finally someone who will allow you as much skin to skin contact with your little one.
2. If you have any health concern or special needs, or if your pregnancy is complicated, you may want to choose one of the larger hospitals that has a special NICU. Level III is the highest acuity. Speak to a Perinatologist and perhaps a Neonatalogilst. Speak with the anesthesiologist, as well. Find a hospital that meets your needs.
Have a great time! Feel free to contact me for more recommendations! I wish more women would aks these very important questions sooner than in their third trimester!
