I did a search here and found some great recipes for laundry detergent and glass and mirror cleaners and will be making them this weekend. Does anyone have a good recipe for Granite, Stainless Steel and Hardwood floors? Most of the cleaners I found doing the search involved vinegar. Can I use vinegar on any of these items?

What can I do next?

don't use vinegar on the stone, it can cause pitting.

you may be able to use vinegar on your hardwood, but I would check with the manufacturer, or the company which sealed them last.

Good luck to you and yours,

I use dish soap for most everything. It definitely works well on our granite countertops and it gentle enough for them as well.
For the stainless appliances and glass I use a cup of water, a cup of rubbing alcohol and a squirt of dish soap... streakless!
I use this in my car as well for the windshield washer.

You can use vinegar on hardwoods, but it depends on the finish.

I just wanted to add something about the "cleaning power" of vinegar, which is mostly an urban myth. Vinegar is not antibiotic. It can be effective against mold, because most molds are susceptible to low pH.
Most household bacteria however are pretty tolerant of acidic pH and as a matter of fact vinegar is a product of bacterial fermentation (so it is made by bacteria). It does nothing against viruses. A mild bleach solution (200 ppm or 1 Tbsp per gallon of water!) is a much better disinfectant and more broadly effective. However for daily cleaning needs you don't really need to sanitize and as a matter of fact it is healthier not to.

Good luck.

When we had our granite countertops installed they told us to clean them with a mixture of 2 parts water to 1 part rubbing alcohol. Seems to work well.

I use vinegar and water on my stainless and wood floors. With my granite, I just use a tiny big of dish soap and water.

How bad do you want to make this yourself? I use a fabulous non-toxic cleaner that would work on all the above! Why not try something like that?

I second FB's advice on the hardwood.
We used vinegear and water on our hardwood, but because the previous owner had used a wax-based cleaner, the combination made the floor finish cloudy :(
