Every year my kids make a homemade gift for family members. I found a great idea for the ladies. I am stumped for ideas for the men. In the past we have done ornaments, frames. bookmarks, decorated the sides of paper cubes, food, drink coaster. I am stumped this year, even after an hour of googling. Anyone have any great ideas? My kids are 4 and 7.
TIA!

What can I do next?

Men love savory snacks..

Maybe make some" trash"..

Chex or Crispix, spices, nuts, pretzels..Have them shake the mix in ziplock bags them roast it. on a cookie sheet.

. They could decorate the lids and jars.. (pickle jars, mayo jars). Once the mix is totally cooled, place it in the jars, they have decorated.
Look for recipes. Yummy

A big container of Crispix Mix with extra pecans and Brazil nuts, double up on the seasonings to make it extra zesty.

Argh...now I want some.

Make beer bottle cozies.
Ya know, like how coffee cups have those insulated bands around the cup?
Well, make those... but it can be for a beer bottle. To prevent the condensation drops from puddling onto the table.
Or something like that.

Get a length of fleece fabric in solid colors or a 'manly' pattern. Have the kids cut out scarves for the guys; create a simple pattern with paper, pin it on and have the kids cut it out and cut a fringe into each end. Voila!

Or cookies. Most guys I know love cookies. If my son hadn't insisted that we 'make daddy a cribbage board' (which we did using Model Magic), I would have had Kiddo make cookies for his father.

Get that soft warm fleecy fabric in their fave NASCAR or sports team, with the reverse side a solid colour that compliments it.

Oh, about 5 ft of it for a 60" wide piece. Do this part for the kiddos: Reverse them, and stitch one side together, then flip it to the right side.
Take and clip the edges in finger length sections on each piece for three sides.
The kids can take and double knot one strand of each side together until it is all done to make "fringe" on three sides of the blanket. If you want, you can get a matching satin binding for the plain edge and sew this on to finish it.

Voila! Instant game/race blanket.

I have found a lot of people do not like the knotty fringe on all four sides, but LOVE one plain or satin finished edge.

Here's another(I did this one while pregnant, and taught kids how to make a fun present for their Dad's, Grandpa's, and fave uncles--Mom's like to steal this too!):

Apothecary jar or decorated mason jar(get the kids to be creative with stickers)
Twine and squares of holiday themed fabric
Cardstock with ingredients list

3 C epsom salt
2 C coarse sea salt
1 C baking soda
8 drops clove bud essential oil
12 drops Cassia bark essential oil
20 drops sweet orange essential oil
10 drops of food colouring
Large glass or metal mixing bowl
Heavy duty kitchen gloves, or a toss away plastic mixing spoon(like wooden spoon, only plastic)
Take baking soda, food colouring(I use 1 drops red, 1 drops blue 8 drops yellow), and essential oils, and mix them together. Take this and mix it into the other salts until colour is incorporated. Fill apothecary jars until an inch from the top. Loop card through twine and tie square of fabric to lid.

Instant smelling salts. When scent is fading, it's good in a hot bath to get the last of the scent out.

I have also used Spearmint and Peppermint essential oils(4 peppermint and 16 spearmint) Tinted light green

20 drops Bergamot essential oil and loose leaf tea mixed in(four tablespoons per recipe) for an "earl grey bath"( tinted holiday green)

8 Drops Texas Cedarwood, 8 Drops Rosemary and 4 Drops Red Thyme essential oils (tinted a warm buttery brown) and put in 2 tbsp each of crushed rosemary and thyme.

Make sure the kids wear gloves when mixing the soda colours and smells.

Be creative!
