Holidays: Gifts for Teachers at Daycare

Any suggestions for holiday gifts for the teachers at Daycare? I'm sure that they grow tired of all the food gifts - so any ideas are appreciated - especially economically minded suggestions ;) Also, who all do you buy for? There are two teachers in my dd's class, but also the director and all the assistants who help through the day - I'm afraid I'll leave someone out!

What can I do next?

I have been a preschool teacher for about 15 years. Every Christmas I get tons and tons of Yankee Candles, Bath and Body Works, and teacher themed coffee mugs. I appreciate every single one, and consider it thoughtful that the parents would think of me. Unusual gifts I have loved are gift cards to the movies, restaurants, and "teacher stores". Once I goot a canvas bag with the little one's handprints all over it in many colors. As the "lead" teacher I get lots of stuff, but it is always appreciated when parents remember the director and all the assistants. At my school, sometimes parents will buy the teacher a gift , and then the other staff may get the food items like homemade candies or a bunch of donuts to share. Actually ANYTHING is fine, because it shows the teachers that you care about them and appreciate all that they do.

Hi N.,

Each year I make LOTS of CHex Mix and place it in Christmas themed bags and pass those out. They are always a hit!!

I make handmade soap (and lotion) - women love it. I sell it at a shop in the new 'Old Roberds Emporium'. It's in the old Roberds furniture store in West Carrollton.. It's an antique/vintage/market store. If you stop in, I'm J. at the Picket Fence Gifts.... can't miss me. ;) Stop in, say hi, sniff.. I'm a 'no pressure' person.

Hi N.,
I started giving my daughter's teachers Christmas ornaments. I buy a large plain ball (can be colored or clear) and with a very fine tipped permanant marker, I write all the names of the kids in her class. On the top of the ornament I write the teachers name and the year. You can get really inexpensive ornaments at Big Lots or I buy them after Christmas and use them the following year. Something different and the teachers seem to like it. Hope it helps.
