Would you do it for your oldest son who could use an older role model & positive influence to play with?

What can I do next?

Hi, J.J.:
That's a great idea.
Are you going through big brothers/big sisters program?
Good luck.

There is an organization called "Big Brothers, Big Sisters" of America.
They do this, background checked etc.
I would do this, rather than some teenager you don't know...

Here is the link:
http://www.bbbs.org/site/c.9iILI3NGKhK6F/b.5962335/k.BE16...
And do a search on it for your area.

It is free.

My friend, did this for her son. It was WONDERFUL for him. She is a single parent and wanted a 'role model' for her son.

If you just want a "play mate" I would not 'hire' some teenage for that... unless you thoroughly background check them and their family and that they KNOW child development, have CPR and first aide experience etc.
Too much liability... to me, hiring some Teen, do to this for your son and be a play-mate.
Teens, have parents too... and go to school and need to do homework and their family responsibilities.

I also personally, would wonder, WHERE is the Teen taking my child? Who are his/her friends? And, a Teen does NOT have 100% wisdom in handling emergencies or bad situations.

Do you have someone in particular in mind for this? You could just hire them as a nanny/babysitter for certain hours or days. If you don't have someone in mind, see if there is a Big Brothers/Big Sisters in your area.

If you truly have a dilema and would like some input, please provide the information to answer your question. How old is your oldest son? What difference does it make if he's the oldest son, or the youngest son? Are you just trying to state that you have 2 boys and would only be doing this for one of them? Are you looking for a role model or a playmate, or even a babysitter?

To answer your very generalized question .... yes.
