Ok My friend and her hubby are trying to get pregnant. They had sex the first and second day of her period and then the last day and a couple days after that. Well she has been sick for about 3 days now and is asking me if she could be pregnant but I can't remember how soon after conseption you feel the side affects of pregancy since my youngest is almost two. Her period was on May 27th and it lasted till May 31st. I told her I didn't think that she was and that you couldn't get pregnant then at least I don't think so but someone else told her she could and to take a test. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am currently preg with my 3rd child. Everytime I got preg it was day 11 thru the 14th after each of my cycles. As of this preg my last cycle was dec 16th, the doctors told me that I conceived the week of the 25th, which falls into the 11th thru 14th day of my cycle. I never used any ovulation test, or basal temp and this is my 3rd. using this method is called the rhythm method, and it had worked for me. I prevented preg this way as well. My youngest child is 4, and I didnt get preg for the years after his birth by not messing around on the week after my preg. I knew this time (it was an oops), but I knew as soon as I missed my cycle that I was preg because I knew that I had not paid attention to the days. Tell your friend if she is trying to conceive to try doing it this way.. I would say her most fertile time is the 5th thru the 9th. Let us know what happens

Usually you ovulate somewhere in the middle of your cycle, but it is possible to ovulate during your period. You can get pregnant then. You can start feeling the symptoms of pregnancy right away, too, because your body is already starting to adjust. Tell your friend to take a pregnancy test. There are ones that can tell pretty early now. Each one should say the timeframe on the box, but she probably has at least a week or two before it will be accurate.

P.,
There are many good books out there on Natural Family Planning. I know people use it as birth control but it is really good for having children as well because you know when you are ovulating. Usually we are ovulating 14 days after the 1st day of our period. There are natural ways to tell if you are ovulating. It is all explained in the books. It is more detailed than checking the calendar, it goes on temperature and discharge as well as the position of the cervics.
Good luck and God Bless you and your friend
J.

Dear P.,
I work for a Dayton Women's Center. We offer free pregnancy tests for women that are wondering if they are pregnant. It doesn't matter if they are married, single, rich or poor, they are free to everyone. Don't have your friend go out and buy a test kit yet because most store bought tests will not give an accurate reading until the woman has missed her next period. Approx. 24-30 days since the start of her last period. Your friend is more than welcome to call us ###-###-#### and speak with a consultant plus we offer free information on Natural Family Planning that will take out alot of the guess work when to try and conceive. Hope this helps.

Normally, you DONT get pregrnant while your on your period. You ovulate approximately 2 weeks BEFORE your period. She could be pregnant and still have a "period". It's not actually a period but it occurs at the same time of the month. It's much lighter than a normal period. I think she would not be able to test for at least another two weeks. Tell her to keep on havin the sex! It might help, but that, personally, I do not think she could have gotten pregnant then.

Its too soon for a preg test to read a positive. Its only been 7 days since her period stopped. Her being sick is probably just a coincidence. If she is trying to get preg is she trying the ovulation testers? You may want to suggest that to them.

I agree with Amy, you can't get pregnant during your period. When we were trying to get pregnant with our son, I found a book. I believe that the name is "The Best Pregnancy Book Ever". It gave a lot of info on body temp & finding out your ovulation time. It is about 2 weeks after your period. Now is a good time to start.

Pregnancy tests aren't accurate until the end of her cycle, that she would have gotten pregnant in. So sorry she is going to have to wait to find out like the rest of us. :-)

As far as I know generally symptoms of pregnancy come a few weeks or more after conception. I'm sure there are exceptions but she won't know for sure until she takes a pregnancy test at the end of this cycle.

Blessings.
