I am at my wits end and so is her mom. She does have eczema, but today when she was very upst about getting cleaned up after a "throw up" I noticed her face was getting red. It looked like someone rubbed her checks to much, then they got worse and more defined. They looked like broken blood vessels. She's come to me with these before but minimual. The right side of her face was worse than the left, there were marks under her chin, on her neck and under both eyes. It looked like little lines of broken blood vessels. It didn't get any better and when her mom came I was feeling worried about the rash! I had warned her and she asked me to take pictures because the little girl has gotten these little rashes randomly before and the DR. never seems to believe her. I did take the pictures and sent them to her. I just feel bad, I have never seen anything like this and my son had exzema. I have also seen the blood vessel broken when my kids "dry heaved" but it was ALL over th!
ier face, my sister had them giving birth, again all over her face, this was segrated to her cheeck area and below. OH, her "throw up" was one gag and a maybe a teaspoon of "stuff". We can't figure it out. She tried to call the Dr. and may bring her tomrrow. I am just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this. I just spoke to the mom and she brought something up, perhaps it was something she "touched" to her face. She does have issues with her skin and her mom has had asked me before to be sure I don't use parfumes, so I just use water. She makes a good point. I wondered as well after finding a tick on my daughter tonight. We have wall to wall and I do not keep on top of the vacuuming. With 2 cats and one dog perhaps there is something in the rug?? ARGH! Does anyone have any advice?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi Ladies,
Thank you all for your help. Johanna and I have agreed that, we will keep a better eye on it and the next time it happens we will get her to the DR. IMMEDIATLY. I loved the idea of great vacuum, however I can't buy one that expensive right now. I am looking to move and lucky for me the place we are looking at has no carpet. So at this point I am vacuuming every day, actually nightly. I wonder if vacuuming in the morning before she comes will be more of an issue with everything flying around. So, I will vacuum, use nothing det. for her and work with her mum on keeping an eye on what might trigger it.....THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

The marks on her face are called rosacea. It's produced when the capillaries on the cheeks enlarge. People who I've known who have had it usually have it as a reaction to eating dairy products (though something else could set it off). Eczema also is usually a result of food allergies. Try giving her acidophilus to help her gut flora and seeing what foods set it off. Good luck.

My son has the same I found after a bath I apply vasaline and it starts to look good. There skin is very sensitive to everything it hard I know. But you sound worst off than I so I would go to a SPECIAL list. I don't like what my doctor has prescribe so far. I myself will be taking my son in two week to a skin doctor. Good Luck! :)

Hi L.,
My advice to the Mom of the little girl is to have her checked by an allergy specialist. I would also recommend she and you have on hand for just such occasions RENEW lotion. This lotion works like a charm! I will happily provide samples if you will contact me.

If it were just eczema, I would highly suggest Arbonne's Baby Care line. The products are purely based and fragrance free. Both of my older sons have it and nothing else helped them even prescriptions. These products along with one of the specialty products Arbonne offers worked wonders and quickly! If you want to talk about what I used, you can email me at ____@____.com for the rug, I don't know how often you vacuum but I only have three boys. Two are home during the day (9 months and 4 1/2 years). We don't have any pets and yet I must vacuum at least every other day. We have a Dyson Animal and I would gladly pay the $500 again if I had to because we did a test once with a regular vacuum and then the Dyson and couldn't believe all that it still picked up!

I would think it is very likely she could be picking something up from the carpet.

I wish you the best.

L.

PS I just read Johanna's post and just want to say that I am sorry if either of you find my post offensive because I am recommending Arbonne's products. I would suggest Arbonne's Baby Care (especially for eczema and rosacea) whether I was building a business or not and only started out as a desperate mom/customer myself.

My middle son had eczema so bad that he would wake up bleeding horribly from his face because of all the scratching he would manage to do while he was sleeping. I tried everything over the counter, direct sales, and prescription (oral and topical) trying to help him because not only did it break my heart to see him so uncomfortable but I was very worried he was going to scar. I thank God when I look at his beautiful skin that someone cared enough to recommend these products to me because I know they saved both of my sons' skin but especially my middle son's.

All three of my sons have VERY sensitive skin and none of them have had a single reaction to any of the baby line including the sunscreen which I saw Lily is having problems with as well. BTW, my 7 1/2 year old still uses the line because one day I put storebought soap on his washcloth I gave him just to have him get upset with me that he knew it was NOT Arbonne. I asked how he knew and he said because he started itching immediately so now that is all any of the boys use.

Hi L. -

I can see you have a great concern, I would also. With sensitive skin everything irritates it. I found of line of chemical and toxin free products that I have been using for over 10 yrs.

My sister has the very sensitive skin and we had to switch the laundry detergent to a natural, scent free detergent. I purchase all my products via a wholesale wellness company. All the 400+ products are chemcial and toxin free. Just taking all these additives out of our everyday products helps our system tremendously. Most of those large companies put in harmful products then sell them to us.

The wellness products I use are wonderful. There is a lotion called Renew that will help the eczema, sorisis, rosatia (possibly that the child has?) It great products for cleaning up after pets and for every other use you can think. The best part about these products - if you dont like them you can send them back for a full refund! That is why I decided to give them a try. Nothing to lose!

Oprah has been doing lots of shows on the effects of the chemicals in our everyday products. They are harmful to our bodies and the environment. I made the switch to help alleviate my childrens asthma and allergies - no more nebulizer or inhailer! The products even helped alleviate my sons ADHD w/o meds!

I would love to talk with you more L. and show you some of the products. Feel free to pop me an email or give me a call. You can also use the as an opportunity to build that second business your looking for. No Inventory, online training and a team that works with you and helps you succeed.

She should be tested for Food Allergies. Eczema is an early warning sign for food allergies. There is a great web site you should check out at allergykids.com.

Good Luck.

Has she been exposed to Fifth disease? That's been going around this time of year, and gives you some sort of rash on the face.

Oh this poor little one! :(

I definitely second having her mom take her to an allergist (not her general pediatrician).

4 out of 5 of us in my family have many environmental and animal dander allergies, and we would definitely suffer in your house (wall-to-wall, pet hair, infrequent vacuuming/dusting). Please don't take that the wrong way, but seriously--we have friends we can't visit for this exact reason!

I hope the mom takes her in for testing. Even little gags and throw-ups can be related to allergies.

Hi L.
Wow, I feel bad for her. It is hard to say what the rash is. Seems like she is defintely very sensitive.
I would think if it was a tick you would see the tick or something. Do you see anything?

In March I began using some new products that are great for sensitive skin. I have used their cleaning and bath and body products. There are no perfumes or harsh chemicals in them. Also, the lotion (Renew) is FANTASTIC especially for exzema.

Please send me an email if you are interested in learning more about this products or even starting a home based business. I recently started my own business spreading the word about the fantastic products. hi all. i'm the mom. i think this is an allergic reaction to any number of things, and that Lily is pretty sensitive to ... you name it!
i can't believe that so many solicitors find ways to pitch their products via a post about my dd's reaction. wow. ladies.. wow.

anyhoo. L., i think the vacuuming and the cutting back on Lily's exposure to perfumed soaps would help a ton. We do this at home and now that i think of it, she IS with you pretty much as often as she is at home (hour wise, think about it, she spends as much awake time with you as she does w/us!! wow)

for now, we will continue to selectively vax, not use soap on her face, and not use dryer sheets on her clothes to keep this cut back.
peace and love and thanks, J..

Hi L.,
The first thing that came to mind was an allergy. Eczema can be seen as a reaction to an allergy, whether its from a food (common sourcs: dairy, soy, wheat), stress or general sensitivity to frangrances or additives. Since she also threw up, did she recently eat or drink something that might have caused it? If you suspect that the carpet might be a problem and you regularly watch this girl, would you consider taking out the wall to wall?
I would closely observe the girl and what she is around, eats, drinks etc. and keep track, that way you can get a better sense of what might be the trigger.
Good Luck

I would take her to a doctor immediately, and if it happens again at home, take her to the emergency room immediately. It sounds like she's had a severe allergic reaction to something, and if she throws up, she could also go into anaphalatic shock where her airways constrict and she stops breathing. This is the same type of reaction my son has when he is exposed to peanut butter, and not just eating it - smelling it too. She could be reacting to dust mites or cat dander that is stirred up with vacuming, some food, purfumes, a cleaner---it could be anything.

Better yet, have your pediatrician give you a referral to an allergist.

this definitely sounds like an allergy - especially because of the vomiting accompanying it. my friend has a child who has severe allergies and one of the instant signs that he has ingested an allergic substance is vomiting. of course, the substance is contained in the stomach contents, so wherever there is contact there will be a skin reaction such as hives or rash. he will also break out if hives if he has casual contact with the allergic substance; say, touches a piece of cheese and then rubs his eyes, his eyes will puff up and swell or become red. i would encourage the mom to investigate the allergy angle.
