Help with Shoes That Are Too Big

I recently bought a pair of peek-toe pumps for myself that I absolutely fell in love with. The problem is that I bought them a half size too big. I can't return them (I don't want to anyways). Is there any insert or trick to get them to fit better. When I wear them now, my feet slide to the front and then the heel slips off. Please help. I would like to wear them in a couple of weeks for a rare date with my husband

Thanks,
Kathy

I bought some heel grabbers at walmart to keep my too big shoes on my feet. I think they are less than 8 bucks.

Here's what you do . . . eat lots of salt (to make you retain fluid), spend the WHOLE day of the date on your feet, and hope your feet will swell! (I know, not funny).

I wish I COULD think of something (practical) that you could do! I've used the inside-the-heel pads, too, and they work if they're not SO AWFULLY big on you. Don't know how to help the front of the pump fit better, tho . . . Sorry.

Well tissue or socks aren't going to work since you said they are peep-toe. I know you said you can't return them, but in an exchange impossible as well? Because of the style of the shoe, I can't think of anyway to make the shoe fit. Did you know they were a half size too big when you bought them? Smaller shoes can be stretched out to make them a bit bigger, but there really is no good way to shrink a shoe.

Hi K.!

I take a sz 5 shoe. It has never been easy for me to find shoes in my sz that i like. There are inserts that are cushioned and are applied to your shoe with adhesive that you attach to the back of the shoe inside. They are not expensive. You can go to your nearest pharmacy, i KNOW that CVS sells them.
Good luck and enjoy your date, I know I will with my husband!

Kathy,

I have a pair like that too, that I absolutely love. I usually stuff the toe with kleenex. See if that helps.

there are rubber things that stick to the inside of the heel that catches on your heel and gives it a little more tightness. You can buy them at shoe stores, where they sell the polish, laces, etc Also, think about selling yours online and just buying the size you need. I think you will end up not wearing these shoes much and wasting your money. I had a pair that I "dealt with" and I barely wore them b/c I would almost fall, they would slip off while walking, etc Ask if any of your friends want to buy them from you....why can't you return them?
