Just wondering if some of you in home daycare providers or anybody else can give me an example of how your day goes?? We've been on a schedule for quite some time now and I've been doing preschool lessons with the two girls (one is my 3 yr old and 2 yr old niece) I run my own daycare and just started watching a newborn and I'm looking for maybe a different schedule to go on. Thanks any ideas or appreciated!!!

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
Around here it varies with who is here everyday because I just fill in when my friends need back-up sitters. Our schedule has gone a little like this since I began staying home:
7:30-9:00a: arrival, breakfast/snack
9:00-10:00a: "lessons" or nap
10:00-12:00a: activities & playtime
12:00-1:00p: Lunch
1:00-1:30p: story time
1:30-4:00 nap time (anyone that needs it) & quiet activities
* some didn't go right at 1:30 and others didn't sleep that long but it made the house quiet so it was a peaceful sound throughout.
4:00-4:30 snack
Most days this works pretty well. The little ones (back when I had some that came everyday) adjusted really well and the parents all LOVED the schedule and used it on the weekends.
Good Luck!

In December, I added an infant to my daycare. Sooo, a 12 week old - a 16 month old, & 2 two y.o.s

The only transition we made was that I switched the actual learning time to the baby's naptimes. What I found difficult to maneuver was "outside playtime"....& even now it can be an issue! We just work around the issues & make the best of our timing....

I've done daycare off and on for 30 years. My advice would be to stick to the schedule you have. The newborn is going to set his/her own schedule, just work with the girls as before. Soon enough, you'll be able to get the baby on the same naptime as the bigger girls so you'll have some downtime. Good luck.
