Help with Nap and Feeding Schedule for 7 Month Old

My 7 month old, granted has been spoiled for good reasons, will only take 5 to 15 minute naps. If we hold him, he will sleep for a couple hours but if we lay him down he'll wake up. And it doesn't seem to matter how long we've held him before we lay him down.
He's been held a lot because we have not been able to allow him to get upset or cry much because of his fragile health. But he's better now and we really want him to take naps.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

What can I do next?

We held our grandson alot when he was little as well and found he wouldn't sleep unless we held him. Our solution was a really nice backpack from REI. Since we owned our own retail business, Grandpa put the baby in the pack and worked with him on his back, pretty much all day. Baby loved it because he was held and it allowed him to look around. When he got tired he put his little head down on Grandpa's shoulder and went to sleep. There was also a head support on the pack for use when free standing. The pack we chose had a strong frame which allowed it to be placed on the ground with baby in it. Sometimes he would take the pack off and baby would sleep for 1-2 hours completely undisturbed in the pack. A little unconventional, but baby was happy and Grandpa could get work done without the extra load for a little bit.
I hope this helps.

You can try one of those noise machines that has a heartbeat sound.

I remember my son would always wake up every few hours until I let him sleep on his tummy, then he slept through the night. Sleeping on my tummy is defintely cozier and more comfy for me, so why not my baby?

Congrats on your little sweetie, I am glad he is better now.

I held my daughter because I just wanted to and she wouldn't sleep unless she was held. I started swaddling her again and that helped. I also (to this day) put her head against a cushion/pillow (top of head). She was head down for a long time, and I think she was use to pressure around her head. Even today,s he sleeps with a pillow pushed around the top of her head.

Have you tried a sling? My first was a hold me baby so that's what I did... the sling was great and will allow you to be more hands free. Plus they get to stay close to you which is what they really want- who doesn't want to be warm and cozy these days? :)

When he gets bigger, you can use the sling and hold him on your hip during the day between naps if need be. I had both my boys in a sling on my hip until close to 2 then they just got to big. But they loved feeling so involved in my day at almost the same level everyone else is.
