In one word Proactive!!! I had bad skin for years, until Proactive. It really works. Good luck and congratulations.
I am 22 yrs old and getting married in June. Here in the last 6 months or so I have been having these terrible breakouts! I sure don't want to have them on my wedding day!! I have tried using organic products like Eminence and I have tried AcneFree facial products. Nothing is working for me!! The Acnefree burned and dried out my skin, and I was only using it 3 times a week. I do not have oily skin and usually only dry in the winter. I need some serious help with it for sure!! The breakouts are mostly on my cheeks and temples.
I can not believe how many people responded!! Thank you all so much for your advice!! My mom actually has a good friend who is a Mary Kay consultant, and I am trying out some products from her... so far so good! Thanks again!!!
In one word Proactive!!! I had bad skin for years, until Proactive. It really works. Good luck and congratulations.
Order homeopathic Acne drops. Use with a clean mouth meaning do not eat or drink anything 15 min before or after you take the drops. I also use to use Proactive but the cost was just to much. I use on products from Melaleuca. They have a great line of acne products that work as good if not better than Proactive and cost about have as much. Now that my face is under control I wash with their antibacterial hand soap use their toner and if I get a pimple they have a great roll on that dries it right up. You also need good vitamins and minerals to help you body work properly. If you seem stressed there are some really good herbs to help. Hope this helps
I had the same thing happen to me when I was engaged. I used Proactiv Solution and went on Ortho Tri Cyclen birth control pill and my skin was perfect for my wedding day. Good luck and congrats on the upcoming wedding!
Are you on birth control pills? Sometimes the pill can help control acne! They even have some now that use that fact as part of their advertising. They also have some now that can enable you to have fewer periods, which might be nice if you are planning a honeymoon! If you are already on the pill then I guess the things the others here have advised is what I would recommend, esp. seeing a dermatologist. Best of luck and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
M., Stress has a strange effect on our system. I would see a dermatologist for the skin treatment. And I hope this doesn't sound crazy but I would also do a good cleansing program inside and out. Changing your diet just might help. Lay off the sugary high carbohydrate foods and add in yogurt or Activia. Eat more salads, meat and vegetables. Drink more water. Stay away from sweets.
Hey M.,
I would suggest to start eating more fruits and vegies and try to cutt out as much sugar from your diet as you can. You are probably just stressed so relax. Drink plenty of water and don't touch your face any.
I am guessing your acne is because of your diet and stress so try that.
Since you said your breakouts are on the cheek and temple areas you might want to make sure you aren't putting your hands and phones or anything on your face. Even your hair can transfer oils and dirt into your pores. You need to keep your skin as clean as possible. I use Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner twice a day. I also use their Oil-Free Moisturizer. In the shower I just recently started using Mary Kay's TimeWise 3-in1 facial cleanser that seems to be working well. Whatever you use just make sure it is OIL-FREE! I also get alcohol free products as much as possible because it just dries out my skin. Of course stress can also play a factor so try not to get anxious and remember, you want your wedding to be fun a memorable, it doesn't have to be perfect for that. Try to delegate some of the plans if you can. I hope this helps, God bless!
As said before, go to a dermatologist. The breakouts could be plain old stress-related zits. They could also be rosacea. Either way, a skin doctor should be able to diagnose and help you.
Best wishes for your future.
Hi Megen,,
I have a kin problem also ,,what i do is i never but soap on my face of course it gets some from shampoo >Next wear no make up ,and to use a cortizone cream ,and go see your DR about taken B/c pills for you that helps many women .
*__*smiling GOod luck and Conrats lol L.
Mary Kay and Proactive are both good systems but they are expensive. I work with a company that has all natural products and they have a wonderful acne line called Zap It. I would love to talk with you about it. The Zap It line has really helped my step son clear up his acne problem and KEEP IT CLEAR. That the big thing. You can email me directly for more information at ____@____.com a great day:)

Don't mess around- go to the dermatologist. She'll get you fixed up and looking lovely without the trial and error of trying different products. Probably cheaper in the long run.
Good luck....
Both of my children have used Sea Breeze HEB carries it not expensive and it works as a cleanser they have it for regular skin or oily skin, and I think sensitive skin. Good luck on your up coming wedding.
M.,
try some neosporin plus from the drug store. Try a little space on your face for a few days and see how it works.
***important, do NOT get the ointment, DO get the cream***
the ointment is like a vaseline texture. The cream absorbs faster and is not shinny on our face.
A tube of Neosporine runs about $6.
If you have no negative reaction try it where ever you are breaking out. this is a quick and inexpensive way to get rid of your problem. It is in the first aid area and the big drug store chains have their own label which is less expensive. But make sure you get the cream. I think you will see results in 3 days. Please let me know if this works for you if you try it. And, Congratulations by the way.
I use it on my face all the time in the winter when my face is dry, especially when I am skiing at 11 - 14,000 feet. Your face takes a beating in that climate. I will put my normal face cream over it, after 5 or so minutes, so the neosporine absorbs.
Also, some of the break out is probably due to some stress over planning your wedding. Remember to breath deeply!!!! And, do not forget to drink water every day.
L.
Well, the more obvious answers you will probably get is make sure you are not adding anything new to your diet regimen and make sure you have not changed anything like your soaps, lotions, make-up, cleansers and detergent (even something you might consider a good change, like adding in a new vitamin of all things). All of those can cause your skin to break out. Also, remember, you are planning your dream wedding!!! This alone will cause stress which in turn can cause break outs. My son used to have really bad break outs all over his face and the one thing I found that worked great was ProActive. It was a three step process (the basic three they recommend) and not very expensive. It did not burn his face or leave it red at all. One of the steps was a moisturizing lotion if I recall correctly. The whole process takes no time at all. I noticed a difference within a week. Within a month his face cleared up. You need to be dedicated to doing the process each day and you will be VERY pleased with the results. Good luck and enjoy your dream wedding:-)
Try mary kay products especially the velocity it is great for young skin with acne

Sorry to hear about your problem, believe me I feel your pain, after I had a facial Threading(facial hair removal)I broke out seriously. HAving tried everything it wasn't for several months, did I come across the advise that I still praise to this day, Head and Shoulders. Yes, the shampoo, the old regular, without conditioner, no 2 in 1, just the old school regular Head and Shoulders Shampoo, lather and wash your face. Don't know why, but the next morning, any active acne you may have had or about to have had, will be noticeable drying, and in a few days, will be gone. I know every skin type differs, I hope this works for you. Good Luck and Congratulations on your Big Day!!
I have a product that I think would help you.
Gice me your address and I'll send for you to use to see if you like then we can talk after you've used for 7 days.
Thanks,
C.
Mary Kay has a great line for acne prone skin as well as very dry skin. Message me and I can send you some free samples. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
I have had great results with the Aveeno Clear Complexion products. I using the cleansing bar (instead of the liquid) and the moisturizer. My skin is quite sensitive, but it keeps my skin clear. I've used ProActiv and also had great results, but it can be a little harsh. Above all drink tons of water! Adding an extra 8-16 oz. a day above what you normally drink can make a difference.
I think Proactive works well but you need to use the mask too if you are having alot of breakouts. I tried the generic for proactive and it didn't work as well for me. I'm pretty sure Proactive has a 30 (or something) day guarantee where you can return it if you don't like it. Good luck!
Go see a dermatologist. They will have you looking great within 2 months.
Hi M.,
Congratulations on your wedding I'm sure you are so excited. I have a few words of advice, make time to reduce a little stress. I'm sure with planning you are stressed to the max. Also you may need to start washing your face 2 times aday and don't forget to moitureize. If this is a new problem which it sounds like it is. Keep using the facial products that you have been. I sell BeautiControl products and if you think you might like to change, just conact me and I will send you some free samples. They are very effective, but I would probably recomend you use the type for sensitive skin before the acne type.
Also if you are concerned about your wedding photos with the acne, I highly recomend photographer Umber Darilek. I have some major skin issues (feliculitius (sp?)) and she was able to air brush and touch up my photos and I looked beautiful, you would never have been able to tell that I'm a red blotchy mess.
Good luck on your big day and if you need anything product wise or Umber's number don't hesitate to drop me a line.
Thanks
R.

I realize that this may seem random, but a friend that was having "breakouts" was told to use Milk of Magnesia on his forehead-on the "breakout". He did! It worked! Now he's a happy camper!
PROACTIVE! I buy it for my 17 year-old son. He has used it for over a year now and what a difference! I have combination skin and break out during my monthly cycle and I use the mask during that time. It totally clears it up!
It has never dried his face. What a glow he has after he washes his face in the morning. They sell it in sets, but I would definetely get the set with the mask.
Dermatologist! You need an expert and have no time to fool around before the wedding.
less is more. the more you do to your skin, more breakouts. I like burt's bees zit stick and their facial products. you face needs natural oils and to put all those chemicals onit will just irritate it further.
There are lots of choices and I would recommend doing some research. Most personal care products have toxins that disrupt hormones and some have ingredients linked to cancer. Check out www.discoverhealthyskin.com. Don't try anything that has toxins and doesn't offer a money back guarantee.
Have you tried Proactive? I only used the refining mask b/c it is drying but it works!!!!
Hi M.,
Have you tried zinc? works great clears it up over night.
To keep it at bay Lomalux works from the inside out. Zinc works from the outside in. Natural Health stores carry these products been using these since I was a teen and my kids use it now. Zinc is inexpensive and Lomalux well you get what you pay for and its worth it. Also, drink plenty of water will help clear out the toxins. Best of luck!
When I was about your age I started going through the same thing on my chin. I had always had really clear skin even on the dry side in the cold, and out of nowhere zits were just cropping up. What ended up working for me was this toner for acne prone skin from Mary Kay. It has a high level of salicylic acid in it and it will probably dry your skin out for a bit. But girl, it totally got rid of the zits and seriously in ten years I have never had the problem again. If the dryness bothers you, you can get some kind of over the coutner oil free moisturizer. I use clean and clear moisturizer for acne prone skin. Although my skin is clear, I just give it a little of that salicylic acid in the moisturizer for good measure. One other thing I did was just start washing my face with Dove. I would just use the bar for sensitive skin without any fragrance or anything. Between those three things, the Mary Kay toner for acne prone skin, the oil free moisturizer, and the Dove soap, my skin cleared up permanetly. Best wishes and congrats on your upcoming wedding:)
Proactiv can buy at most malls
congratulations on your bid upcoming day
Dear M.,
I was that way for years. I went to the dr. office got prescriptions, all that stuff, and nothing seemed to work. About a year and 1/2 ago I had a MaryKay rep approach me and offer to help me. After about a month we found the right line of products for my skin and I have been acne free since Sept. of 2007! I actually sell MaryKay now because I believe in it SO much.
I have all these products on my website and I know it would help you. My website is www.marykay.com/edavis11902. There are 3 different products and a combination we would just have to find the right one for you, but you're face would be clear by your wedding!
M., I feel your pain. I struggled with breakouts up to about 6 months ago. I started using a product by Sensaria Natural Body Care call Mineral Genesis. It has worked wonders on my skin and the greatest thing is that it is natural. We also have a great scrub that helps get the dead skin and debri off your skin. If you would like to give it a try just contact me at ###-###-#### and you can check out my website at www.mysensaria.com/beckysspa . You can earn our products for free just by having a few family and/or friends over for a spa experience. They are fun!

My son (15) had terrible acne until we went to a dermatologist. She said a lot of acne is caused by a bacteria in the skin, and she prescribed him a specific antibiotic, plus a couple of prescription face gels. He now has a beautiful, smooth face, just the occasional very minor breakout now and again. I would highly recommend going to a dermatologist, because if your acne is caused by bacteria, no amount of over-the-counter face wash or specialty lotion/wash is going to help. (Believe me, we tried!)
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials, M.. I hope everything is perfect for your big day.
NIKKEN has a fabulous skin care line that is completely organic, and absolutely wonderful. Many products call themselves organic, but NIKKEN's True Elements Swiss Organic Skin Care Line is the real deal.
It's certified organic by Ecocert — a distinction claimed by few very skin care products, including many with “organic” on the label.
All True Elements products are made from the flowers, vines and herbs that grow in the Valaisan Mountains of the Swiss Alps. Subjected to extremes of temperature and humidity over the course of centuries, these rare plant strains have developed an unusual resistance to the effects of environmental stress.
The all-natural, plant-based ingredients make this skin care line perfect for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. To learn more, go to www.nikken.com/brendaramsey. On the main page, click the link that says, Shop NIKKEN products, go to the Lifestyle Solutions drop down bar, and click on True Elements Swiss Organic Skin Care Program.
Hope this helps!

This was a very helpful sight for me. They have a quiz that will tell you exactly what products you need for your skin problems. (They even have pictures to show you what they are talking about in the discriptions)I looked at what the active ingrediants were and then went to walgreens to find products with similar texturs and ingrediants because I wanted them NOW! For me, I needed to switch to a gel cleanser, which I would have never tried if I hadn't looked up the information in this sight. I had even tried the proactive products with some success, but only for a short time. I think that I need different kinds at different times too, so reevaluating what you use every so often is a good practice too.
Hope this helps. good luck.
My momma make a homemade soap that she calls her facial bar, and it is made with all natural ingredients. My cousins use the facial bar and say it is better than proactive that their grandma was buying them. Plus we make homemade soap for the body as well. If you would like some of the soap let me know my email is ____@____.com and I can tell you how much we sell it for and all. My mom is opening a shop in Kingston, OK on Feb. 4th.
Go to a dermatologist and ask them to do microderm abrasion. It works wonders & uses no chemicals.
M., how is your diet? Are you eliminating waste regularly in the "desired" way? If not, then waste/toxins will find its way out, the most common of which is through the skin. Drink plenty water, and eat cucumbers (remove toxins) and other "wet" foods.
Topically, you can try dabs of tea tree on the spots on your face. It works well for me without drying me out. Also, I sometimes get bumps on my face where I sleep on my pillow, especially if I go to bed with make-up on.
Lastly, are you just running yourself silly while preparing for this wedding? If so, SLOW DOWN.
M.,
I would love to set up a time to share what Arbonne has to offer in terms of skin care to help you feel most beautiful on your wedding day. Arbonne is unique because it is more of a holistic approach, treating your whole body. We actually have a supplement with herbs and vitamins that have been proven to help clear skin. I have come to believe that when we have issues with our skin, there is something going on inside that needs to be addressed. This supplement does that in conjunction with a great skin care regime. I am home with my kids so my schedule is flexible. We can meet and discuss your needs. ###-###-####.
