I breastfed my son and when I needed to supplement formula I went with Nestle Goodstart. He did great with that formula. Good luck!
First I would like to thank everyone who gave me suggestions to my previous request. We are overcoming the issue of my 2mo. old taking the bottle. We found a bottle that she likes. The soothie bottles work best for her so far. Now, however, she will only drink breast milk and my work schedule only allows me to pump once a day at lunch time, which doesnt give her enough milk, so I am forced to supplement with formula. She does NOT like formula at all. DOes anyone have any suggestions about a specific kind of formula. So far we have only tried Enfamil Lipil, but willing to try anything that may change her mind.
Thanks to everyone for their great advice. THis is a great website, Im glad I found it. Working full time I dont get a chance to go to any mommy support groups in my area, so this site is great. My baby is finally coming around. So far we have found that the soothie bottles work best for her, though dont ask me why because she would never take the pacifier. She is getting better about taking formula as well, though she prefers it mixed with breast milk. It just took a little time and patience, she's still not a pro, but I have faith things will keep improving. THanks again to everyone and Im sure I'll have more questions in the future. Hopefully I will be able to help someone else too :)

My previous 4 1/2 month breastfed baby girl had just recently been changed to formula. The only formula she likes and agrees with her is similac isomil. I hope that helps, good luck!
Def. do the half and half. I had to do it with my son because like your daughter he thrived for my milk and wanted no part of formula, but at 6 mo. I decided I was done w/breastfeeding. It really worked well for me. As far as formula I used similac isomil because the reg. formula made him really fussy and gassy. The doctor recommended I try that. He gave me a bunch of samples to try and that worked best. Good Luck!!!
Hi A.,
I myself didn't breast feed and my son was on Similac Advance. One of my good friends however was in your situation and the Similac did work from her son. I'm not sure if this helps but it may be worth a shot. If you do use it and it works, check out Similac's website www.welcomeaddition.com, you can sign up and become a member, they send some great coupons. There were sometimes that I got coupons in the mail for $10-$15 off a can...
I hope this helps!

I am a working mom of 3 and they were all breastfed. I started my two oldest on Similac around 8 weeks old. I spoke to my pediatrician regarding my youngest and the cost of formula. She suggested Good Start, it is about $3-$5 cheaper than Similac. They all took to the formulas fairly easy. Good luck!
Have you tried mixing 1/2 breastmilk w/ 1/2 formula, and gradually introducing formula? I had to do that with my son, and now he takes the formula like a champ! And we use Good Start, he has taken to that really well. Good luck!
I have a 4 1/2 month old, and he's been on Similac Advance since he was born. He hasn't had any problems with it, has never had a problem with excessive gas or spitting up. I hope you find something that she likes!
try mixing formula and breast milk (half and half)at first that usually works... then slowly progress to more formula.
If its possible try spitting your break in 2 so you can pump more often
did you try diluting with formula a little bit and gradually increase formula over breast milk??

I recommend Nestle good start. My son has been on it since he was three months old with no problems. I had a hard time breast feeding, I wasn't producing enough to keep up with him. The good start is inexpensive and it has way less gas bubbles when you shake it to mix it so less air gets into your baby's belly! Hope this helps!

I had the same trouble with my daughter who is now 3 1/2. For whatever reason, she liked the Carnation Good Start and hated all other formulas. I would also push the issue of pumping at work. You need it to help keep your supply up with the demand! Good luck and hang in there...this too shall pass!
My son was the same way when I was weaning. He never really liked formula until he was old enough when I mixed it with milk. Then he drank a ton of it. I can only say that when she is hungry enough she will eat. I know it sounds mean but it works.
Hi A.,
Our son would not drink the enfamil lipil as well. Not only that but it made him sick. Try similac or speak to your Dr about a soy based formula. Good Luck!
The formula that my children used and neither had any problems with transition to formula from breast milk, was Nestle Good Start. I think that this formula is the closest formula to breast milk. I liked the DHA (orange container) but if your baby doesn't seem to do well with it, the purple container of the Nestle Good Start is the best one to use. Also if you decide to use this kind, sign up at heir website so that they will send you coupons for the formula. Good luck. This is the only formula I used for my kids.
I initially breast fed my daughter. When we switched to formula, we gave her Similac. That line has several different kinds. You can check out their website at www.welcomeaddition.com. Good luck to you!!
Your pumping rights may be protected by law if you wish to try to keep your daughter on breastmilk. Also, you could try reverse-cycling where your daughter nurses in her sleep for most of the night and therefore needs very little intake during the day. For more info, check out this link - http://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/reverse-cycling.html
you could try nestle good start it has a thing called comfort proteins so it is easily digested and maybe to start her off you could mix half and half breast milk and formula then gradually decrewsae breast milk and add more formula then she will get used to the taste of the formula. just a suggestion, also nestle oodstart is cheaper than most brands.
