Hello - I know EBAY is very popular, but I'm new to it. I have 3 girls...any advice on how to find cute clothing and accessories. I'd also like to start selling some clothing my girls have outgrown too. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Hi M.,
I have used eBay quite extensively but have lately become a big fan of craigslist.org. They do not charge you to list your items for sale like eBay does. We listed some items and got emails within hours. We sold everything we had listed within 4 days. In addition, craigslits-ers shop local so you can have buyer pick items up instead of shipping if you find it more convenient.
Regarding eBay, what I have found most effective as a buyer is when sellers list LOTS of clothing. So they would group 4-5 dresses together and sell them. Any name brand/designer clothes will likely do well individually.
When buyin on eBay, pay close attention to the shipping costs and the Seller's rating. Some sellers overprice shipping costs to make up for low winning bids. Check for positive feedback on the seller, but also be sure the buyers giving positive feedback are still active and established eBay users. Some sellers will create false accounts to give themselves positive feedback.
Hope this info helps! Happy bidding!

One tip - when you search for clothing by a "lot". You will save on shipping rather then just buying one outfit here or there.

it kind of walks you through the selling process there are help icons if you have a question along the way. as long as you have the approx. weight of the item you are shipping you really cant make a mistake. take pictures of the items first have them on your computer ready to go. you can sell individual items or groups of items. check out the site first and you'll get an idea of how to list things. it is a great way to get rid of things your kids have outgrown. good luck.

You may want to check out www.napervilleyardsales.com too. I think it's easier then EBay - everyone is local, no shipping costs, etc.

I LOVE E-bay!! I don't usually buy clothes but I have bought a little bit of everything else. I have also sold many things.
Use the tutorials they have to help you sell. When you set up ypur account there will be places that they 'teach me or show me' and they have great info. The best tip I can tell you is tp look and see what other people are selling and see if they are getting any bids on items similar ti what you are selling. If there are no bids on several listings similar to yours you may be better off selling things at a consignment shop. When you list if it does not sell you can relist it for free but if it does not sell in the end you still pay the listing fee so keep it simple to keep the costs down. Some people make fancy listings and end up paynf for it. If you have lots of clothes and pan to sell some in the future as well you may want to check into e-bay stores. You can set up you own store that people can browse in. I have not done that but it looks interesting. Happy e-baying!!
