I have a 3 Year old daughter and she has had two sets of ear tubes. on her last set they took out her adenoids as well..The next night she snored... recently her snoring has increased, she snores extremely loud to the point where it sounds like she is having problems breathing but weirdly enough it doesn't effect her sleep at all she sleeps right through it, even when i try to awake her, she wont wake up..when she is in an upright position head tilted back and mouth open its the loudest, thats when it seems the worst, but when i reposition her where her head is tilted down she sleeps peaceful as a newborn baby. I have talked to her doctor and she keeps saying everything is normal so i have recorded it for her for her next visit.. But do u think it has something to do with her tonsils..Should she have them removed also?

What can I do next?

How is her day time mood? Is she whiny? Does she fuss a lot? Is she clingy with you? If so, then she is not getting the sleep she needs, and it may be sleep apnea. I suggest that you follow up with a pediatric ENT, since the regular pediatrician thinks all is okay. My friend's son was exactly like your daughter, and when they finally took all the adenoids and tonsils, he slept like a rock and his personality changed completely. Happy happy boy now!

A quick answer, and something that MIGHT help- children's breathe-right nasal strips... just MAYBE it could help a bit. It couldn't hurt.

My daughter had the same problem and had a full T&A at 3. It seems REALLY odd to me that they didn't take out her tonsits too.... sounds like she needs them out. It sounds like you've been seeing an ENT but any DR worth their salt isn't offended by a second opinion. Perhaps it's time to seek another opinion in the fellowship or find a different, highly recommended pediatric ENT as Dita suggested. It definitely sounds like it's time to have her tonsils out. My DD wasn't even phased by it, btw. She cried for two hours afterward and ate mac and cheese a few hours later, and continued to eat throughout the next week. went through a TON of popsicles too. It was so much easier on her than on me at 28!! good luck!

It sounds like she has sleep apnea. She may need her tonsils out, but why didnt they do that when they removed her adenoids? I would go to a pediatric ENT. My son had the same issues and is fine now after tonsil and adenoid removal. Some kids need further treatment but whatever she need its important to take care of this as it could affect her oxygen intake, the development of her teeth, etc. It's very common, nothing to get worked up over, just do what you have to do to help the situation. Good Luck!
