I went through the same thing with my daughter. She was potty trained fairly early and around the 4 year mark she started having a few accidents. However, it ended as quickly as it started. i asked her doctor and she said that this occurs to children who were potty trained early and that it is completely natural. It will end. Its just a part of a child adapting to changes in their bodies and surrounding. It will pass. Good Luck! My daughter is 8 yrs now and hasn't had any problems like that in school.

I do not want to scare you but oftentimes when a child is exhibiting behavior unbecoming of themselves such as your daughter is, she may have suffered a trauma. Unfortuneately this could include molestation. I recently had this experience with my 4 year old daughter. I consulted my pastor's wife first, then a medical doctor who physically checked her for signs and then a therapist to try to find out where this behavior was coming from.

I would start there. Good luck.

This happened with my sister when she was about that age, and my mom put her back in diapers for a day, since she had wet all of her clean panties. She came to my mom and asked for her panties back, as she was VERY uncomfortable in the diaper. She never had another accident after that.

Hi T.,
Has there been any changes in the home, or new friends something like that? I have a 3 year old daughter who has been potty trained for over 6 months now, a short time ago a friend came to stay with us for a week and she has a 3 year old son who was wetting himself daily, well my daughter started wetting herself. So it usually happens when there is a sudden change they are trying to adjust to or are mimicking another behavior. Hope it helps.

Hi T.. Not an uncommon thing. You now have to train yourself to get up in the middle of the night and take her to the potty. This helped tremendously with my son and I hope it works for you. I am potty training my litte girl now and it seems to be a bit easier.

Good Luck!!!

i just wrote to someone with this same problem. My four year old went threw her stage a few months ago. I am a stay at home mom and we didnt really go out a lot so she was always comfortably at home when she had these accidents. then we had some family come stay with us and she got very embarrassed when she did have accidents. once they were gone she was done with the accidents. another thing with girls can be urinary, kidney or bladder infections. you may want to have her looked at by a doctor. but be prepared, even though she is only four they know no one should touch them there and it can be hard if they arent ready.

I have a daughter that did the same thing. I tried to not make a big deal out of it, but it kept happening. Finally, my husband and I had to sit her down (more than once), and explain that it was not good for her body being it could give her an infection, and it made her smell. If you have a younger child, it may just be a relapse, which is what it was with my daughter. I hope this helps. You will get through it, it won't be long and she'll figure out it isn't good.

check out www.pottytrainingsolutions.com they sell a product called PODs and it is a terrific, absolutely amazing product. My daughter would go to the potty, but didn't want to take the time to always go so she would have accidents and I too was worried that she was not going to be able to go to K4 so I found this online and we used it. Before the package was empty she was completely potty trained with no accidents. She is now 5 years old and has been potty trained for about 2 years and has to date never had an accident. I swear by this product and the cost is very inexpensive. good luck.

I don't know if this would apply, but has she been having any irritation in that area? My daughter had a bladder infection at 6 and had accidents quite frequently for a while.
