I've had great luck with OxiClean on most baby-related stains. Soaking things overnight is especially effective. They make Baby OxiClean as well as OxiClean Free, which has no perfumes or dyes. Good luck!
My two month old is quite the spitter-upper and is on formula only - Enfamil with Lipil. It is staining her clothes! I've used the "Totally Toddler" nursery stain remover from Babys R Us and it doesnt work! Any thoughts or advice? I am afraid to use anything that isnt specifically for babies - not sure if it really matters or not?

The only thing that I have found that works is from the Amway/Quikstar Company, and you can order it online--I did! Its their spot removal spray, and it works on EVERYTHING...even formula stains.
Good Luck!
Hi D.,
I can understand how you feel.I experienced the same issue with my 4 month old. What works best for me is the SA8 baby detergent for baby skin.I is safe on baby skin and is as powerful to remove the hardest stains.
Hope this helps you.
..and the best part it they take the gaurantee for 90 days so you can use it risk free.

cheers,
When my kids were babies I used the Dreft Spray and never had any problems, now that my children are older I no longer use the Dreft however I use a product called Awesome from the Dollar Tree (the yellow liquid) and it is truly awesome, it gets everything out of clothes, I just spray it on and use an old toothbrush to work it in then throw it in the laundry. Good Luck!
I use the PreSpot Stain Remover 4x from the EcoSense laundry line. I use it on my sons clothes, works great! It even got blue ink pen out of my white table cloth. It is part of an awesome laundry line, from Melaleuca, that is great for people with sensitive skin and is safe for newborns and up. It is safe for the enviroment and saves you money bc it is concentrated. A 96 oz bottle of Mela Power 6x does 192 loads! Mine lasted over 3 months for a family of 3. Awesome company. You have to be a member, everything is RISK FREE 60 empty bottle money back guarentee. If you join today 2/28, your one time $29 membership is paid for. check out www.melaleuca.com If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Hope you find something that you like and works :)
For patterned clothing on a white background ,or for white lapels, I used a q tip dipped in a bleach/water solution to spot clean, and then launder..
Both of my babies have been big spit up babies and I use shout triple action and it works great! I don't think it matters if it is for babies or not. I have never used the baby detergent either, just all clear since is is for sensitive people. My kids have never had any skin problems or anything because of this. Good luck! S.
I use a plain unscented no dye bar of ivory soap and a toothbrush for everything. It works on most things except blood stains (crushed aspirin and oxyclean does) and ink (hairspray works). Scrape any crusty bits off, get the item wet, rub in some soap and rub the stain gently with a toothbrush. Don't rinse if it's an old stain. Let it sit in some warm water for 30 min. Then rinse and wash. If the stain is fairly new, rinse out the soap and throw in the wash.
I love the Dreft stain remover also from baby r us . It works great for me. Soak the stain right away with dreft stain remover and rub it under water then put it in the wash or whenever you do the baby laundry. If you are going to wait to accumulate more clothes to wash it later then let the item dry, stains still gets removed. Love the stuff!
Hope this helps somewhat.

Zout! I haven't found a stain yet it won't remove. Treat the stain immediately with a little, then put a capful in each laundry load. It helps keep colors bright and takes out stains. I've been using Zout for almost 20 years quite happily.
I used to soak my daughters clothes/bibs in a bucket with whatever detergent I was using for a while (an hour or so, I can't remember how long I soaked them, as my daughter is now 7). Then I would throw them in the washer. Worked for me...
Hi D.,
I swear by BIZ. I use it for everything and believe if BIZ can't get it out, it ain't coming out. Try to catch the stain before you put it in the dryer. You can either soak the items in a bucket or saturate the stain with water and sprinkle BIZ on the stain and let sit overnight or at least until it dries, before washing. Sometimes I let it sit for days and the best part is this works on color clothing too. I have tried many products before this and for me this is the best. Good luck. M.
I use Oxi Clean spray and powder. Works well for pretty much all stains. I say that because nothing I've tried seems to get out the stain the vitamin drops (if you use them) leaves behind. Good luck:)
you could also try to switch her formula. my son was spitting up alot and i'm giving him enfamil ar it has rice starch in it to thicken the formula and it helps them keep it down.
I absolutely LOVE Oxy-Clean spray wash. I have used it since my daughter was born. I spray directly on the spot and let it soak. Depending on how bad the spot is, I may rub it in slightly. However, I wash all of her clothes in Dreft and have since birth. She is now 17 months old and OxyClean has been a lifesaver - saving me from having to replace clothes!!!
Good Luck!

Have you tried Oxy Clean spray?? I use that on almost all of my kids clothes and it works wonders. I've even tried it on old stains and it took them out too!!
You've had some great ideas. I finally broke down and put a bib on our little girl to prevent the stains in the first place.
The only thing that worked for me was Shout. That can get anything out; usually even if it's been through the dryer as well. We use the same formula as you do. Good luck!
I have pretty good luck with Spray N Wash. Also presoak, wring out, spray stain remover and let sit for awhile before washing. It seems to me the longer the stain remover sits, the cleaner it gets. On occasion I have to wash something two or three times. If the item is white, use a bleach pen. I haven't found that using Dreft or any "special" baby type stuff is necessary for the baby and I haven't found them to work any better. They are more expensive for nothing.
If you can find a Hispanic Store or an Asian Market, they sell the orange soap balls for hand washing clothes. I bought a 3 pack and use it to remove all stains from my baby's clothes (spit up and poo). It removes the stains great and when I toss the clothes in the wash it doesn't leave any residue or scent. It was the least expensive and most effective. I did start using shout for my clothes and I am now a victim of flying spit up! It works great. I don't use the ball soap on my clothes because I don't have the space to hang my clothes once I am done hand washing.
Back to the baby clothes, I let it pile up during the day and in the evening I hand wash the stains and hang up the little clothes. It's a good system. Plus it gives my husband some time to play with the baby without me hovering over them! :)
Good luck!
I never used the specialty laundry detergents. Instead, I used regular detergent just the "free" type. My doctor told us it wasn't worth having the children's clothes washed separately in special detergent because they were getting the same contact when they are laying on us and being held by us. So, my suggestion is to switch to your regular detergent and see if you can find it in the "free" - no dyes or perfumes.
Good luck!
Use your favorite spot treatment and laundry soap - add Borax to the wash load for smell removal. Rinse the clothes twice if your really worried - I used Arm & Hammer unscented, dye-free detergent when my son was a baby and he never got a rash etc. I'm back to my tried & true Wisk again now that he is out of diapers.
Formula is a tough stain to get out - you may need to make peace with it or use old fashioned BLEACH and rinse well.
My son was such a drooler and spitter-upper that I put 2 bibs on him at a time. Ahhh, memories! ;)
