Chuck E Cheese? Mickey's less-fortunate cousin?
ok so when my daughter was two I thought it was cute when people asked her how old she was she would say "i'm two and when I am three I get to see mickey mouse" well I encouraged this too much and you guessed it she turned three last month and there is no way we can go to disney world!!!!! I thought she forgot about it....but now she is really asking aboit him again. I was thinking of going to the disney store at oak park mall....but tonight before bed she told me she wanted to give him a hug and talk to him!!! so anyone have any ideas? I thought about trying to rent a costume and visiting daycare or finding a character to pay to come visit but I am having no luck.....and can't find any disney on ice shows til next Feb.....any advice? please and thank you. :)

Have someone call and talk to her in "Mickey"'s voice. The voice can talk to her and then say I won't be able to visit you this year but I will send a note when I can. Then you send a note when the trip to disney is all set up. good luck
Mickey doesn't talk when you meet him, the costume doesn't allow it. Even so, Sherry has a good idea, do you know anyone who can sound like Mickey and call your daughter? (I can sound just like Elmo and my little guy really thinks he's here when I do the voice, lol.) They could call and tell her how much they want to see her but can't right now, etc. The Disney Store site is offering 25% off toys & plush til Monday, so maybe you could order her a plush Mickey and have "him" send it to her to hug anytime she wants?
If you can get someone to "play" Mickey Mouse you'd give her such a sweet surprise. Try calling Fun Party and Wedding Services. Their phone number is ###-###-####. I can't tell if they have Mickey, but it looks like they have a few well-known characters (website). They may at least know where to find one. Personally, I would try to work out what I could in this situation. Especially since not much has been done to discourage it up until now, you know? Also, how many birthdays to we get to make magic for our kids? Don't feel bad if you can't swing it, but if you can, just have fun with it!
Have you called the Disney Store to see if they ever have Mickey Mouse appearances?
OR Explain that "Mickey has a lot of boys and girls to visit and isn't planning to come to Leawood until after it gets cold, in February."
@Leslie -- you are one smart woman! And you made me laugh.
You can have Mickey call your daughter. I had Ariel call my daughter on her 5th birthday and she was thrilled. Go to http://disney.go.com/charactercalls/piccolinismiles/
It isn't that expensive and totally worth the fun. I was able to get a free phone call because I signed up for Disney rewards on their website. Good luck.
Disney is really strict on licensing their properties and Micky is one of theirs. You might be able to find a costume and have someone dress up and come visit. I would call the Disney Store and see if they have any ideas. You could also send her a note from Mickey, saying that he has been delayed and will come to visit as soon as he can. That leaves you open for a date and to plan a bit more. The Disney on Ice idea is a great one, maybe you can get a backstage pass. Often local stage hands do the lighting and other backstage work for traveling shows. Contact the Theater Department of a local university and ask if they might know of anyone in the stagehands union or contact info for the union, or any talent agent, artist rep ( they book local bands) sometimes if you ask enough people you finally get the answers you need.
