Once again time has gotten away from me! My son's b-day party is this Saturday and I need some quick ideas for party games. There will be children ages 6 - 10 attending. I also need to accomodate a boy that is handicapped. Any ideas you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Pop ballons and have to do what ever the paper inside says. You can get one of those packages of different chaped/sized balloons and don't blow them up totally all the way to make it a little ahrder to pop. My kids and their friends love doing this. And it is fun seeing how they interpret what the paper says to do. And anyone can play regardless of age or ability.

I just printed our some Halloween MadLibs (just google Printable MadLins, it's on a classroom materials website) for my son's 8th birthday tomorrow, then I wrote up a blank one just for the occasion. It's sort of a story of the day, or how it could go with the birthday party being the setting for whatever they imagine. I'm not sure how I'll use them, I printed enough that I could break them into teams of two, then we can do them at the same time and then read them all aloud. Sounds fun to me!

Have the kids make their own gooey gunk (http://www.ehow.com/how_###-###-####_make-gooey-gunk.html). You'll need a really large jug of white glue, 20 mule team borax from the laundry aisle, bit of food coloring (put a plastic tablecloth down to prevent stains), water, plastic bags to take it home in (let parents know kids shouldn't set it on wood furniture).

I had a laser tag party at my home for my son's 10th b'day party. It was outdoors, though. Do you have a Sports camp nearby? Sometimes the coaches do birthdays and come to the house for sports and games like dodgeball, etc. You can rent a videogame truck, also. I can't tell if you have limited space or are doing it inside or outside, etc.

Are you familar with the game show called Minute To Win It? People are starting to use these ideas at parties. I, along with some other moms, actually got some of our ideas from this show to use at my kids' school today during the Halloween party. So Fun!! It's easier just to go to the site and listen to the directions and you'll get a visual too. Have FUN!! And .... of course you may need to modify some of the rules to the games based on their abilities.

I have only thrown 2 birthday parties for DD...but both times we decorated mini pumpkins. I just provided googly eyes, pipe cleaners, pom poms, glitter glue, and foam stickers (and mini pumpkins which we hide and have them find).
Both times the kids had a blast!
HTH!
P.s. I know it sounds messy-but both times the kids handled themselves fine-and they were more of a 3-6 yr. old crowd. :)

OK WELL, I have girls... But this can be done with boys too. Have 2 boxes of adult cloths, have 2 teams. Start them at one end and the box at the other end , they have to run to the box and put all the clothing on, run to the startline back to the box undress, then back to the next teammate. I know that you have a handicapped child if he is able to this would be great but if he can't maybe he could be the "REF" and he can announce the winners. This way he is a part of the game as well.

This is ALOT of FUN and A BUNCH of LAUGHS!! So get your video camera ready.!!
