We like the Pampers Baby Dry. I've actually never liked Cruisers because they leave lint on the kids and lint in those sensitive wrinkly areas isn't easy to get out! My coworkers like the up and up brand from Target... I've never tried them.
I've been a Pampers Cruisers Mom since 2003. But I was disgusted to see that Pampers totally changed the design of this diaper. I opened my new "club pack" from Target tonight, and we ALL noticed the difference. (Even my son, right after he peed, complained that he was "itchy.") I don't know if it's just the club pack, or all new Cruisers, but these new ones are paper-thin, scratchy, have no mesh liner, and the padding STOPS halfway up the back. I will not be buying them again until the company can assure me that packs bought elsewhere are the old, beloved Cruisers.
So, in the meantime, I need to know which other diapers Cruisers-users also like? I do shop at Costco, but don't want to have to rely on it for diapers (since Hubby does Target runs mid-week). My son's almost potty-training, and he's super active. So something stretchy and absorbant is a must. Thanks!!
Thanks for all the suggestions! We've tried several now, and don't love any of them. But we've settled with Luvs for the most part. Hopefully we'll be done with diapers soon so it won't matter. In the meantime, I did e-mail P&G, and they refunded my money within days.

YUP! I was pretty ticked too! I switched to Hugs and have even used the Target brand - both pretty good...
Good luck!
huggies pure and natural are pretty good they have a thick liner and are really soft!
With my oldest, we switched from Pampers to Kirkland (Costco) diapers at the recommendation of my SIL. LOVE THEM!!!!! With my youngest, we started on Kirkland and have NEVER had an issue with them. We also buy our wipes at Costco. Those items alone pay for our membership. I do sometimes buy the Huggies at Costco too (especially if you get their coupons) since you can't beat $.17/diaper!!
We're long-time Cruisers users and recently tried the Target ones, Up & Up. I love them! They're not quite as nice and there's no picture on them, so you have to open them to figure out which side is front, but so far I've been extremely happy with them! And they're SO MUCH cheaper! I don't think they've changed Cruisers, but they've added a NEW line of Cruisers that my husband bought recently and they were awful (and stinky!) Maybe that's what you got in your club pack?
The target brand was our favorite! I never had any problems using those with my daughter!
We switched from Pampers to Huggies Natural. They're so soft on their little butts. Like a Pampers swaddler, but in all sizes. LOVE LOVE LOVE them! They're made w/ organic cotton. They're so soft.
We use Pampers Baby-Dry and love them. They hold a ton at night and never leak. They are also a bit cheaper than the Cruisers because you get more in a box. I hate Huggies, they don't seem to fit right, leak too much and the sides aren't stretchy like Pampers are.
I was a pampers queen just like you and then with my current baby in the beginning but we switched to Huggies and love them. I get mine at Sam's Club, they work great for us.
We love the Kirkland (costco) diapers. I think that they are equivalent to Huggies Supreme...so given the price of huggies supreme vs. the Kirklands they are a great deal.
Since we switched over a year ago we haven't gone back!
Try Target brand! They are awesome. They changed the design I think like a year ago, and now are soft and pretty stretchy and true to size [my son is 30-35 lbs and can still fit in the size 4]. They also do not leak at all. Target wipes are great, too.
Another cheaper brand that I like are Costco diapers, or the Walgreens diapers.
Even if money is not an issue, still, try the Target ones!
you should go online and contact the company and complain. typically they should refund your money or something.
otherwise, you can also go to other brand's websites and get samples, even if you have to call/write their customer service to ask specifically for one.
I use HUGGIES (regular one, not the NIGHT TIME HUGGIES)at night time, since I tried many different brands and finally I learned that HUGGIES is the most contain WATER. And I use TARGET brand at day time to save money.. Target brand works well for my son now.
The costco brand isn't work out.. I tried that one also.. the same with PAMPERS, the snap doesn't hold well.. I hate PAMPERS.
LUV seems ok, but they have guarantee on their products..I did try that brand, but the end, I still like HUGGIES is the best
We LOVE Kirkland diapers and wipes from Costco! We don't buy anywhere else. Sometimes they have coupons for them, too, but this month the coupon is for Huggies...we still bought the Kirkland (hate Huggies wipes). Our only issue with our almost 2 year old is wetting through at night, but we are still figuring out when to cut off liquids. Other than that, we couldn't be happier. :)
I thought something was different when I opened our box of Pampers Cruisers last week! I thought they just compressed during packaging and would poof up later. I just compared the old and new Cruisers, the mesh IS gone! The mesh was why I liked them in the first place, because they were similar to the newborn Swaddlers! My son has been itchier, too.
A few weeks ago I did test out the HUGGIES PURE & NATURAL, and wow, they were SO soft and cushy! A bit pricier, though, but I did really like them, so might buy them again. Here's a link to get a free sample + coupon:

Man, what a bummer. I wonder if Target would take the Cruisers back?
(ETA: Bummer, they only have newborn sizes available for the Huggies sample.)
We have used Kirkland (Costco) brand diapers with my son (age 2) ever since he was a newborn and we have had no issues. We like them a lot. Same for the wipes. Good luck!
I LOVE the Target brand (Up&Up)! Try a pack, even if you don't like them y ou'll only be out $7!
I would definitely recommend Huggies Supreme, worked very well for all of my boys.
We've been using the Huggies from Costco since our daughter was born (for our son we were Huggies Supreme and Pampers Cruisers snobs).
They are MUCH less expensive than getting them at Target when you compare the price unit to unit.
We've also really had good experiences with LUVS. The Costco diapers appear to be Huggies without the Disney characters printed on them.
Those were our favorites. We also liked Pampers Baby Dry, but they were a little pricier. having had both a daughter and a son in diapers, we did not notice any differences in the ability to prevent leaks, etc.
I found the same thing with the Pampers Cruisers...they just weren't holding up! I actually just switched over to Pampers Baby Dry and they are much better. They are definitly thicker feeling than the Cruisers and my son sometimes fills them to the brim and either no or minimal leaking.
