We never used any of that; gauze, desitin, etc. Both our little guys healed in about 1 week with lots of diaper changing (and airing out without diapers on) and a little triple antibiotic ointment.
Good luck,
S.
He got circumcised 2 weeks ago and came up with this bad rash around where I placed the gauze (being careful to have used vaseline as well)
I initially used Boudreaux but the Dermatologist recommended Desitin which has Methylparaben. I had Parabens are not good for babies
Can anyone help with their experiences or thoughts
I know I am just freaking out being a new mum

I too would stop using the desitin immediately and consult with your pediatrician. Because he is so young, I do not recommend using anything over the counter and I'm sure your pediatrician could prescribe something that is adequate considering your son's age. Poor baby, I do hope it heals soon. Immediately consult your pediatrician.
Oh...baby!
Use a lot, a lot of vaseline, and if it doesn't get better bring him to see the doctor.
Good luck.
His circumicise should be all healed by now you only put the gauze on the first 2 days and keep apply vaseline just to keep the pee off of it. Try letting it breath on its own keep his diaper off a few times a day and make sure to change him a lot. If its now healing I would take him back to the doctor.
Good luck.

poor baby. my brother and myself have had our skin burned off by the adhesive on "cover all" or name similar on bandagess put on by doctor. quit using desitin, it pulls when you put it on. it stings open skin on some people. i would say use a gentle triple antibiotic ointment that is soothing, except that might be prescribing without a license...
Hi S., Congratulations on being a new mom! I was reading some of the other responces and I think not using any gauze and letting the area breathe is good. I can already reccomend a botanical diaper rash cream that may help clear up the rash. If you interseted in more info let me know. I hope your little one is better soon..
