Dr. Roland Limosnero and his staff at Heritage Family Dentist in Colleyville are wonderful. They are very kid friendly and my kids love it there.
I am discouraged after an appointment for my 2 year old son with a dentist here in Flower Mound, Cross Timbers Dental. Moms, please adivse of a good dentist to take him to that is child friendly! We went in today for a cleaning for my husband and my 2 year old son- I needed my 2 year old son to be seen because the pediatrician was concerned about some darkened spots on his teeth. We had never been there before. When I called to schedule the appointment I asked if it was necessary for my son to see a Peditric Dentist, and the woman I spoke with assured me that they see many children, and spoke of the success because "a child can watch their parent get their teeth cleaned before they do so themselves". So, I followed their recommendation and scheduled an appointment for my son and husband together. When the appointment time came, I was present as well, to care for my son while my husband had his teeth cleaned. I put my son in his stroller, so he wasn't able to run around. He loved hearing the sound of the water pick, and squealed with delight. First, an office manager came in and told him to be quiet. I was a bit taken aback (especially since this was in now way "loud" for a 2 year old). He continued to giggle and squeal, and after recieving some horrible faces from the office manager who looked down her nose at me, she ASKED HIM TO LEAVE!! Seriously, my 2 year old son was asked to leave the dentist's office for squealing at the "vvvrrrmmmm" noise that the water pick made! I was horrified and in tears, and spoke with Dr. Revering, the owner of the practice. At that point, I was under the impression that a misguided employee had acted on her own. I then found out from him that he had actually asked her to take care of the squealing!! I asked him how he planned to service a 2 year old (they obviously knew his age, as we discussed upon booking) without him making any noise?? As mommies, we know that the happy noises a toddler makes are much "nicer" than the unhappy ones...and my son was happy! He explained that this was their policy. The children can be seen, but if they make any noise, they will be asked to leave. Had I known this, I would have NEVER booked an appointment there for my 2 year old, and waited a month to get in! The information I was given when booking was completely different than what was presented when we arrived, and my son was treated horribly for a SQUEAL. I left in tears, not even getting a cleaning or examination done for my son. This practice, though they will take the "business" of children, has no intent to allow them to exist normally, let alone cater to the needs of children. A dentist's appointment for a toddler would be stressful enough, and this one was over the top. I do NOT want to go through this again! Please let me know of any dentists who you have had good experiences with for your children!

I've heard great things about Dr. Debra Duffy - pediatric dentist. Her practice is in Wellington of Flower Mound, and caters specifically to children. I've never been there myself, but have heard wonderful things from several different people. They have lots of toys and various things in the waiting room to entertain the little ones, and I've heard the dental care is great! The only drawback - reason I haven't taken my daughter there yet - is that they are considered "out-of-network" with most insurance plans. So, there's a chance you could pay a little more. But, check it out!
I am sorry you had such a horrible experience.
I take my 3 girls to see Dr. Debra Duffy and believe me you won't get asked to leave because of the noise your child makes. She has a slide in the front office so you know kids will be making noises. We have been going to her for 3 yrs and I have no complaint about what she does. Yes they will tell you that when your kid turns 3 yrs old you can't go back with your child it will become their own appointment like mom and dad but I still go in the back with my 3 yr old.

I am sorry you had a terrible time but I now know not to use them if they are that rude to children imagine when my 3 have to take along for mommy's appt.
Rondi-
I am sorry you had to go through this. I am a dental hygienist and that is not typical at dental practices. While it is not necessary for a 2 yr old to see a pediatric dentist, it is usually easier. Pediatric dentists are used to kids. They know how to talk to them and how to handle them. I would recommend Dr. Rozaz in Coppell or Dr. Armstrong is Southlake. Both of which are excellent dentists. Good luck!
If it were me i would of jumped all over the woman and the dentist for how he treated me and my child! i am so outraged by this i think i might even send a letter of disgust re how they treat toddlers.
I did A LOT of research when looking for my DD dentist. We use Dr. Armstrong here in Southlake and absolutely LOVE HER!!!! She is a Ped. Dentist! She is fast, caring, fun, and a very plesent dominor even with my Screaming Crying Child. She was very kind and wouldnt go to any other dentist. She is out of our Ins Network but worth it!
At the end she give a electric kids Crest Toothbrush (we got an ice cream toothbrush and a dolphin toothbrush) a baloon and toy.
For Halloween you can turn in left over candy to them and they give $1 for every pound and a certificate. When they get off the Passy you turn them in and they do the same type of thing $1 per Passy and a Graduation Certificate for getting off the Passy. They are really fun!!!

Wow, wow, wow. That's my dentist, & I've never had a bad experience since I've been going there for over 2 years. I always bring my son to sit with me, & they've never said a word about him. (Not saying that my son was any more behaved than yours because I assure you my son isn't.) :)
My son goes to Dr. Wickersham right next door. He's been going there for 2 years now (twice a year), & they've been wonderful to him. Never heard a bad thing about them. Sorry that happened!!
Wow Rondi`
So sorry to hear about your experience at the dentist. I live in Flower MOund as well and have taken my kids to Dental Care for Kids(Dr. Wickersham & Dr. Gonzalez) for over 7 years. They are a married couple and are WONDERFUL w/the kids. They know all the tricks to making it a fun exprience for the kids. They are located across from Kohls-kinda' next to CVS.
Dr. Duffy is also popular, though I have never personally gone to her practice I have heard good things about her practice.
You cannot go wrong w/either of these practices.
Good luck!
