Help! Childcare Recommendations in Lombard Area

I am going to be a 1st time Mom in August and will be looking for childcare starting around November. I am blown away by how many different options there are, but am limited to the time either people or centers are open. The typical hours I would be looking for are 7/7:30 to 4/4:30; however due to my husband's job and my travel schedule there will be probably a few days a month that will begin at 6:00 and end at 4/4:30. I'm surprised to find that this really limits my possibilities and was also surprised that I need to make a decision sooner rather than later due to wait lists, etc... Right now I am open to all options (nanny, in-home, and daycare), but wondered if anyone had any good recommendations for places in North Lombard, Villa Park, or even Elmhurst. Thanks - I appreciate the advice! :)

Hi S.,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I would recommend Got Tots in Lombard. The website is gottotsinc.com. The owner is Bonnie Balboa (email ____@____.com). She is a former elementary teacher and is great with children. I have known her for almost 20 years and she is a caring and wonderful person.

Good luck to you!

Go to www.gottotsinc.com -- owned by Bonnie Balboa, she's a personal and very good friend of mine. She started her daycare over a year ago after 13 yrs of teaching. She is currently licensed w/ DCFS and is becoming accredited nationwide. You can find her info on Mamasource under childcare tab. Her phone number is ###-###-####. She is by Roosevelt & Main St. Lombard (by the Police Station). Hope this helps!! :)

I am daycare provider in Hanover Park, which is too far away, but I wanted to give you some encouragement. Several home child cares and centers do offer 6-6 - it just depends on how they are licensed. It sounds like you are in DuPage County. You can contact the YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral in Glen Ellyn (off Roosevelt) for a list of licensed providers in your area. Good luck!
