I too have a scotch-guarded microfiber couch and have found that virtually everything comes off with a baby wipe. Granted, I haven't had carmex on there yet, but lots of other nastiness has been cleaned off pretty well.
My son decided to wipe his lips on my coudh with carmex on them. It's a microfiber couch. The couch was scotch guarded when we got it. I tried to wipe it off with a wet rag (at the time I didn't know what was on it). Does anyone have any ideas? It is in an obvious spot. Please help!!!
Thank you for all your suggestions. The dish soap worked.

I would try some dish soap or shampoo...they are designed to break up grease...I've used shampoo to get grease spots out of clothing before.
I would try a prewash like Oxyclean for laundry to break up the grease then rinse with warm water. Or try a dish soap like Dawn to break up the down the grease.
I own a microfiber sofa and work in the furniture business. . . that being said use rubbing alcohol to get the stain out. That works best on any oil based stains. Windex also works really well on everything else.
try a mr clean eraser, my 2 year old grand daughter marked all over my micro suede recliner with a permanet marker, and to my surprise the eraser took most of it out. Good Luck
I work for a restoration company. The main thing I deal with daily is carpet cleaning and furniture cleaning. Whatever you do NEVER use OXY anything on your furniture or carpet. Once you use it, later when you decide to have your couch professionally cleaned the oxy can mix with the professional cleaner and bleach out colors. It has happened to many of my customers! It has bleached carpets and furniture. It looks fine at first but when someone comes in to clean it professionally it bleaches. We have a special cleaner here that I use daily. I would stick to the dishsoap and washcloth. When you get your couch cleaned later you can always put the scotchguard back on. I would look at the tags too. There may be a number on there to call. I know we get a lot of customers from Scothguard/Guardsman for spots on couches and chairs. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Thanks
I don't know how old your couch is, but it may still me under warranty with the scotch guard company. Usually the store you bought it from or the scotch guard company will give you a packet with cleaning supplies in it. You can also try calling the store and they can give you suggestions or at least tell who to contact to get suggestions. I don't think I would do anything else to it until you talk to professsional. Good Luck.
I would go straight to the source and contact Scotch Guard.
Maybe try a warm iron and paper towels.
