Have you had it looked at by a doctor? I think a year is too long to go without having it Dx'd by a dermatologist.

Rashes come from the inside out.
Have you tried a good cleanse?

You need to go see a dermatalogist to find out what is causing the rash. Could be an allergy, dermatitis, psoriasis, etc. You have to figure out the cause before you can figure out the cure. While you're waiting to get in to see the dr, you might want to keep a "log". Write down what you eat, medications you take, ointments you use on the rash, soaps/lotions you use for laundry/dishes/etc., the weather/temperature, and anything else you think might be a cause, and then write down the condition of the rash (worse, better, no change). This will help identify possible trends.
Good luck; rashes are soooooooo annoying.

Sounds more like a chronic skin condition or an allergic reaction. I saw 6 different dermatologists and said 'I think it's psoriasis' to all 6. The first 5 told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I had dry skin because I wasn't used to the dry air. It was one patch on my left leg. It wasn't all over like 'dry skin'. I told each doctor that my mom had the same thing so I was pretty sure that was it. They all gave me different creams and not a damn one worked!! Before my son was born I had an allergic reaction to my new birth control pills. I'd been on them for 3 months before the rash showed up so I didn't think that could be it. I tried every detergent every anti itch cream EVERYTHING!! Finally I got online and googled the name of the birth control. After reading the fine print I discovered that 'rash' was one of it's side effects. I'd taken 2 different brands of birth control and checked their side effects...neither included 'rash'. I called my doc and switched pills immediately and the rash was gone in a week. I endured the awful itchy misery for almost 9 months by the time I figured out what it was. Don't discount something that you changed a year ago because you never know!

ummm could be hives.. HEAT and in turn , the perspiration can cause hives to ignite and drive you crazy because they itch soooooooooo much..
I would refrain from waxing at this time and in addition, try and wear clothing that breathes more easily like say cotton (that is if you aren't already)
Also, IF it is hives.. boy those can take a long time to run their course. I have had them many times.. when you shower or bathe, don't make the water too hot, that will bring on the hives.. two, when they do flare up, try PURE aloe vera gel . you can get it from whole foods. buy the PURE stuff.. NOT lotion. I keep it in the fridge (it's also good for things like sunburn) anyway.. have you tried something like Benadryl? that has helped me in the past as well. Lastly, from what I have read, drink lots of water as it helps get the histamine production (or over production) more regulated within your body. when or IF you have hives, the histamines can go crazy. I have actually found that drinking LOTS of water does help, at least somewhat..
IF hives don't clear up on their own.. some docs will prescribe prednisone. that is strong stuff and not everyone wants to take it. not all docs will prescribe it, but in some cases it can knock the hives out. I took it one when I had SEVERE poison oak.. anyway.. you may want to go to the dermatologist and have them look at it. could also be Eczema which can feel similar to hives. have you checked out pics on the net to compare it , you may want to and then perhaps see the dermatologist. if you can't afford it, often they might have a physicians assistant whom is usually just as good but cheaper.

best of luck
don't scratch!!! makes it worse!! :)

Sounds like an alergy to something. Allergies can start later in your life, so watch things in your diet. When pregnant with my first, at 36 years old, I started having like an exzema in my scalp. It progressed, and now 10 years later it is an issue (since it was under my hair and any dermatologist medicine would only work for a bit and due to safety you can only use it for a while, I did not use any). I have now realized that it is caused by wheat, and slowly, so not an immediate reaction. I have gotten wheat and gluten out of my diet and I see the change. HOWEVER, to get the skin back to normal I have to put stuff on (I use homeopathic stuff) and once it is calm, the elimination of the food that is causing it keeps it away.

Try elimination diets to see what keeps it at bay. Also go to the homeopathic pharmacy to get a cream for skin. Also, I have heard great thngs about NAET, which also deals with allergies. Check it out on this site and then search for someone in your area.

What about your shampoo? Laundry detergent? Hydrocortisone has to be the last step in this as it can be harmful and does not solve the problem. I would look into allergic reactions and changing the diet if the outside influences aren't it.

With the Sensaria Natural Bodycare line that I represent, there are several products that have helped my family and hundreds of my customers with skin issues such as this. What I have used and recommend is:

any of the four scents of Body Wash to replace all soap (mango, green tea, cherry almond, rosemary mint)
Freshening Mist - to balance the ph and can be used anywhere on the body
White Tea Calming Serum - if it is really bad, this is an amazing product to use anytime and is especially suited for the sensitive skin, rosacea, sunburns, bug bites, etc.
Any of the lotions but the Nourishing Moisturizer if it is especially bad as this product is healing as well as moisturizing and does not block pores (no petroleum).

There is a one-year guarantee so if you purchase any of the products and try it - don't like it - return it within the year for a full refund as long as you have half of it or more left.

I am not thinking you are dealing with a food allergy because it should show up elsewhere as well.

Maybe it's eczema? That can come and go.

I would go to a dermatoligist.

I know I can not wax because the wax clogs my pores, and then my skin gets nasty. I suggest trying threading. It has been a big help for me.
