I have a hearth cushion as an added safety measure around my fireplace. My question is that it came w/double sided tape but that isn't working very well. Does anyone know how else I can get it to stay on????

Thanks!

What can I do next?

We have a cushion on our hearth as well, but it doesn't cover the eges a whole lot. More for just sitting. We put one of the carpet mats underneath the whole thing. It keeps rugs from slipping around on the floor so we figured it would do a good job with this as well. It still does move around some when it gets a good jolt, but it doesn't slide around.

We bought those for our hearth too and to be honest they never worked. we actually take an old quilt, pretty big blanket and just cover the entire hearth. The edge isn't all you have to worry about - a little one falling on the flat bricks can get scraped up pretty bad too. Sorry I don't have a better way to get those to stick.

Clear silicone or Gorilla Glue. You will need to put painters tape on to hold it in place until it dries.

You can buy strips of velcro at any craft store and even at places like Lowe's. attach to fireplace and to the cushion? Just a thought.

Is it the velcro coming off the masonery around the fireplace or is it just not enough to hold in place. It could be the glue is not holding a common issue. Velcros are not made alike. The stuff from JoAnn's and some of the to the trade places are made cheaply. I have only one scorce that I feel holds up to the job and sometimes a special adhesive needs to be applied as well. It took 3 tries with differnt adhesives to get one to hold on a bathroom sink. It also might need straps added to the cushion with grommets and then using a masonery bit drill for screws and screw into plce. Are you in or near the Cincinnati area? I have all the equipment and would come out and check it out for you. I would have to charge a fee but it would be worth it to have it done correctly the first time. I would have to see it to make sure. Do not use gorilla glue if you plan on ever cleaning the cshion cover. It can be taken off easily and sew the velcro on in several more spots. Velrco glue to glue to the hearth not gorilla glue.

Try velcrom (spelling) the glue from it comes off easily when you remove the strips with a little bath oil which won't hurt wood or masonary and it will hold things in place.

I have the velcro hearth cushion and have had to put superglue on it to get it to stay on both sides. My daughter has learned where the velcro is and will try and pull it off that way now. So I really don't know.
