How about chex mix in paper Halloween cupcake holders, You can make pop corn balls out of sugar free syrup and low fat popcorn, sugar free orange or green jello jigglers cut in Halloween shapes.
Hope this helps!
Hello Ladies!
I am attending a Halloween party where we are serving only Healthy snacks. I was hoping that some of you might have some fun and interesting (but very easy to make, as there will be about 100 children there) healthy treats.
I have only come up with Ants on a Log, but am not sure how many kids will want to eat celery!!!!
Thank you all so much in advance. We have such a great group of moms here!

A great milk/nut free fruit dip is (forgive me if I am off on the name a little) Tuffuti's Better Than Cream Cheese and a small amount of reduced sugar jelly mixed together. I know they sell it at Kroger. My son loves this! Also you could make little fruit and veggie kabobs with dip.
Do the ants on a log with a pretzel rod instead of celery. Check out www.familyfun.com or www.parenting.com. They had some snacks using dried apple rings and a couple of other dried fruits. Those sites have a lot of Halloween ideas from crafts, to costumes, and foods.
Last year for our Halloween party I made monster eyes and more kids ate them than I thought would. You cut carrots in small chunks (take a big one and if you cut it at the fat end you'll have a round chunk) Then put cream cheese - I opted for garden vegetable flavored cream cheese and then a sliced black olive on top. It's supposed to look like an eye ball. I think I got the idea at www.familyfun.com They have lots of good idea.
Also, grapes are a good healthy snack that most kids like.
I a news letter in my email and it has a tone of Ideas. My favorite is the finger food (baby carrots with an almond sliver for a finger nail).
Have fun!

You can make googly eyes with deviled eggs sprinkled with paprika and a black olive on top. Also spiders out of marshmallows with prezel sticks for legs. The coconut covered ones work great instead of dipping them in chocolate. Dirt cups with yogurt instead of pudding is a healthier alternative. You could make a snake of out ready made pizza crust rolled with ham or turkey and cheese then shaped like a snake. There are usually bone shape graham crackers at the store this time of year as well.
I saw one that made little ghost pizzas. If I remember correctly, they used a ghost cookie cutter on pizza dough and then the same cutter for cheese. Then used olives I think for the eyes and mouth, but you could use little pepperonis which might be more appealing to kids than olives. Or just leave them cheese pizzas.
I just thought of another one. We did this in a kindergarten class I substituted in (back in the day when you were allowed to do food stuff with the kids). You took a clear glove like the kind cafeteria people use. Put a candy corn in each finger like a finger nail and fill the rest with popcorn. The kids loved it!
apple smiles
2 apple wedges for lips, peanut butter then marshmellows for teeth.
How about pretzel sticks and a creamy peanut butter for a dip or a spinach/artichoke dip if it is a nut free affair.
Ritz with peanut butter between to make sandwiches...add legs, carrot slivers or tons of options to use for legs. I like red bell peppers and a small piece for hte top of the cracker to make black widows.
Easy cheating cupcake....1 box choc. Cake mix and 1 small can of pumkin mix dump in cupcake liners and bake. They are cute with a gummy worm coming out of the top and healty. Kids think they are getting a cupcake but we know better. I love them with coffee for breakfast.
My 13 yr old is having a party this weekend and the foods requested were a veggie tray with dip and a fruit tray with dip. I am providing a fruit tray with berries, etc and also apple slices with peanut butter and caramel dips. I'm also making bruchetta.
The group coming to this party are all health conscious 13 yr old girls and boys.
Hi K., raisins and pretzels are always good. Why not even try the small oranges and or the mini apples???? Try going to a whole foods or Sprouts store.
have fun!

What about pumpkin bread? Or zucchini bread?
What about cantaloupe balls with a little pretzel on top and some raisins for eyes, like a jack-o-lantern?
Hi K., you could make some pumpkin bread... it has a little bit of sugar but not much and my kids and their friends love it! (I use my banana bread recipe but use canned pumpkin and a little pumpkin spice instead of mashed bananas) Another suggestion is rice krispie treats made with peanut butter instead of corn syrup. You can also serve peeled grapes and label them eye balls.
You can also use splenda to make any baked good sugar free.
Ants on a Log...celery filled with peanut butter and rasins on top.
not sure what is allowed - family fun and kraft have some fun Halloween treats.
Carrot "fingers" with ranch dip
Bread stick brooms (using pillsbury bread sticks - they shaped like broom sticks and baked)
I will try to find the magazine
Fruit with yogurt dip (use a peach yogurt or vanilla tinted orange for Halloween)
What about popcorn balls? ACT II sells them at Target. This would be healthier than the chocolate and candy.
I bought this hugh plastic container of individual packs of pretzels at Sam's. It has over a 100 snack size packs in it. They are packaged in orange and black wrappers. I have a small day care and the kids love them. Also, the pretzels are in the shapes of bats and jack o laterns. It might save you a lot of work!!
what about mini pumpkin muffins?
I did this for a my son's K-class. Spread peanut butter on apple slices and than put teddy grahams on the peanut butter. The 'mini' teddy grahams work great. They are in the snak-sak bag instead of the box. It likes like the teddy bears are on a boat. I also saw where they took a slice of bread cut in out in the shape of a gingerbread man. spread butter on it. Than spread jelly almost all over it to look like the jelly is the shirt and pants. You use raisins for eyes and nose. And than if you want put teddy grahams on the peanut butter. The idea was on the back of a teddy graham box. Have fun!
You can always do Ants on a Log with carrots. Or make one big veggie caterpillar (scoops of avocado for the body segments, bell pepper slices for the legs, etc) and let people take little pieces of it. Have fun. This time it's okay to play with food!
