Have You Any Experience with "Ideal Feet"?

I have a bad case of plantar fascitis in my right foot and it is causing a lot of disruption in my life. Even working out for just 1/2 hour puts me in so much pain I'm hobbling, much less shopping or cleaning house. I've actually crawled to bed a few times rather than walk on my foot in the evening. I am going to go see a podiatrist but also heard an ad from "Ideal Feet" about orthotics for just this condition and wondered if they are as good as they claim. Anyone have any experience with them?

What can I do next?

The "ideal feet" approach is expensive, and if you google it, you'll see that there are people who have had increased pain from this orthotic. There are probably people who have been helped, but it's a gamble most people make in desperation after doctors haven't been able to give them any relief.

If you haven't already, I think you'll do better going to a podiatrist and finding out what all your options are. A doctor can evaluate your situation and recommend an orthotic that will me most likely to help you. Anti-inflammatory drugs might also help. There's even a selection of topical creams that could reduce the pain.

I can sure sympathize; I've had a long list of foot problems for over a dozen years, and they can really make daily activities a struggle. Inflamed fascia is miserable. I hope you find a solution that works.

I had it after the birth of my second child too. I was miserable. The doctor gave me an orthodic that was designed for my foot. But honestly, it took nearly two years before I had NO pain. But, I could not even walk without shoes and without the orthotic.

Good luck!

Yoga helped me a lot and a good shoe insert from the Podiatrist.

We did not have a good experience there. They are very overpriced and if their product causes you increased pain they will not take it back. Try Foot Solutions instead. Their approach is not nearly as expensive and they use way more sophisticated assessing tools and methods. http://stores.footsolutions.com/plano

I had plantar fascitis after my second child & podiatrist Robert Taylor prescibed shoe inserts, always where shoes, exercises & over the counter anti inflamatorys. When I still had pain he gave me a shot in my heal which made the pain go away. I read too many bad reviews on ideal feet after looking online. The shoe inserts from my dr where like $12 & work great.

I'm not sure what plantar fascitis is... but I'm guessing that it's something to do with plantar warts? If that is the case, I used to have HORRIBLE ones on my feet (not as bad as you describe, but I had at least 15-20 on each foot) I ate a lot of garlic, and they went away on their own and STAYED away! It's been at least 6 years since I have had any issues. (If that's not the problem... just disregard. lol.)
