My only suggestion is to goggle it. Find out all the info you can on this stuff. I've never heard of it.

I think this a great question for your doctor, don't you?
This is your health. Do you really want random opinions from complete strangers?
Good luck!

Ask your doctor, or ask a pharmacist if this medicine can cause problems with your liver.

Good luck!

Victoza is a newer version of Byetta. Both are a synthetic drug based on Gila monster saliva. (Gilas digest their food so slowly that they only need to eat every few months) Both drugs are used to treat Type 2 Diabetes and have the added benifit of curbing feelings of hunger/keeping you feeling full longer, thus causing weight loss. Some doctors use it just for weight loss even if the patient isn't diabetic.
I took Byetta twice. The first time I lost 17 pounds. The second time it didn't seem to cause any loss, but it did help my blood sugar.
I was supposed to take victosa and went through a depression where I quit all my meds. I am getting back on them and doc and I are waiting to see if I still would benifit from Victoza. (If pills alone don't help)
Byetta and Victoza are the only drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes that don't cause weight gain.
I don't recall either doctor saying they needed to test my liver regularly with these drugs. They did want to prescribe cholesterol lowering drugs and they wanted to test my liver every three months with them. ( I refused the drug and got my cholesterol under 200 on my own)
