I've been reading about these very expensive water machines that make alkaline water. The companies make all sorts of health claims. For me, just drinking any water would be good. I hate it and most days I'm lucky to get 8 ounces in. I tell myself I will. Then I get busy and it goes right out of my mind. One of my daycare moms has been getting the water from a man that wants her to buy the machine. She says she actually craves the water.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions :) I wish I could share the same experience with Culligan. I contracted with them to provide me clean water (just at the kitchen sink) with ZERO ammonia in it. 3 months later and over 150 dollars and they were unable to do so. They quit on me and told me it could not be done. But I did get it done when I figured out where to order a complete system online. I've had no problem since. But I don't think I can afford the whole house as much as I would LOVE to. I still hate the better water. I mix it in cranberry juice and I mostly forget. But I'm working on it.

The water is water!! Yes it may have a taste but is still water. Water does have health benefits. Drink plain water out of the tap or chilled from the frig.. The drinking of water is good for us and just try to drink more. I have found if I place clean cucumber slices in a pitcher of water I like the taste of the water and it is much less expensive.
Hi Suzi - I have one of these machines and my family loves it. I don't know if you have read the articles or news reports where pharmaceuticals are now being found in our tap water and the quality of water is not what we really want to be drinking... The machine I have is GREAT. The data on Alkaline water makes sense.
I cook with this water and my family drinks it as well... highly recommended!

You might want to look at http://www.chem1.com/CQ/ionbunk.html to see what it says. Very long but is a chemist's view of the claims. I'm no chemist but after reading this would save my money and invest in cranberry juice, vinegar or baking soda.

This may be a silly response, but as someone on a tight budget with NO money for stuff like that, I wanted to let you know what I did. I also have a terrible time getting in water, I don't hate it but it just doesn't occur to me to drink it until I am already dehydrated. Most grocery stores these days sell single serving packets of drink mixes like Cyrstal Light. They are just enough to put in a 20 ounce water bottle. You just dump it into the water bottle, shake to mix it with the water, and then drink it. They have lots of flavors, are really really good, and you end up drinking more water because it tastes like a flavored drink! Wierd, maybe, but it totally works for me.

I used to NEVER drink water! When we moved into our House a culligan guy came out and did a demo. We really liked what he had so we got the water system for our entire house. We take showers in it, wash clothes, dishes ect. The water is wonderful, I drink lots of water now and I use a lot less detergent in my clothes, and our clothes are lasting longer. I don't itch when I get out of the shower! I use a lot less lotion:o) All of our house guests always notices the difference in our water and love it when they stay with us. All this to say...I recommend a Culligan system :o)

My BF has one of these machines attached to the kitchen faucet. He is very health conscience. he is not around to ask right now... but subscribes to LIFE EXTENSION magazine and takes suppliments. I heard a woman who follows the same program and drinks this water too. She said it makes her feel amazingly healthy. So if I were you--I would google the subject, usually you get all you ever wanted to know about any subject there. I am not that fond of drinking water either... BUT I know how critical it is to get enuf. Within the first hour after I wake up, I guzzle 2 glasses or more, of room temp water out of my PUR filter pitcher. Sometimes I break it up into 3 or 4 drinks. Now this helps flush out all the built up toxins from the previous day and overnight. And I never have troubles in the bathroom either. However if you have to be at work early--I would break it up throughout the day cos I really have to run to pee a lot LOL. We are supposed to get a lot of water from our food, i.e. fruits and veggies, but I don't think everyones eats enuf of these. You can also dress up your water with lemon juice or something--even a couple tablespoons of vinegar (have to drink that down fast) because both of these things help regulate blood sugar, slow digestion and help us lose weight! So do the best you can with it all--if you can find a way to afford the machine then get it. It certainly cannot hurt. :)
I actually have a lady who my dad went to school with (years ago) LOL that has asked me to come to a meeting about this machine and water tomorrow evening! She swears by it! She was in the last stages of lymphoma sp? and started drinking this water and it cured her back to health it basically went away! One of the side effects is that you do crave the water it makes you more thirsty but it is supposed to be very good for you! I guess the machine produces to waters one you can drink and one is like healing water you can spray on your body if you have any sores or something my dad uses it!
The machines are very expensive like 3,000.00 but if it works and helps your body you can also lose weight with this water!
I started drinking the Smartwater but this lady said obviously that this water is better!
