My 12 year old daughter wants to be a little girl for halloween and I don't have a clue on what she can wear. I want her to look like a baby doll and I don't sew. If anyone has ideas for us please let me know.

FOUND THIS ONLINE...HOPE IT HELPS!

Costume: A baby/toddler, Bedtime child, Sleepy time kid.

Items needed (some are optional): night gown, bib, teddy bear, slippers with rough bottom to wear outside, pacifier, bottle, bonnet & pretty much anything else you can think of to make you look like a baby. For Male: You can get matching sweat pants and sweatshirt. Light blue would look great! Long johns would well too.

How I put it together: Very simple to put together. I wore a night gown that came just about to my knees and wore short underneath. At the time we lived in VA but I don't remember it being cold out that night. I borrowed a bid, baby bottle and pacifier from my next door neighbor. I put on some slippers that had rough bottoms so they would be similar to shoes. I put the pacifier on a long necklace & wore the necklace. I held the teddy bear and I think I put the bottle between my bears paws making him hold it for me.

Other ideas that I didn't use: Make rosy cheeks and put freckles on your face. Girls can put their hair in pig tails tied with ribbons. Homemade cloth diaper (over tights or pants of course!) Find a bonnet and an over sized bottle at a costume store. Costume stores also carry over sized pacifiers. Carry or drag around a blanket. This is a great theme for a couple! The female dresses as a baby girl and male dresses the baby boy!

Why I loved this costume: First off it was easy and something you don't see very often. I've heard of people winning "Best Costume." The comments I got the night I went out were great! I am very shy so I was worried what people would think. One man smiled and told me "Boy that takes guts!" But other people would just laugh and tell me what a great idea. It was a hit.

Does she have any nice ruffly sunday type dresses? If not you may want to check out a thrift store to see if you can find a cheap dress that looks like a baby doll tyep dress. Or a dress that you can add lace to the edges. (No need to sew just use a glue gun!)

Then put her hair in pigtails, use a dark pink blush and put circles on her cheeks, some mascara to make her eyes look big and maybe a few freckles with an eyebrow or eyeliner pencil. White ankle socks and if she doesn't have baby doll type shoes like Mayr Janes, you could get those cheap slip on ones from Wal mart. She could carry a stuffed animal, walk stiff legged and say "mama, mama" if she wants to act in character!

Good luck!

Hi K.-

Find a cute "little girl" style pair of pajamas or a nightgown. "Footie" pajamas would be great if you can find them in her size. Put her hair in two ponytails and have her carry a teddy bear or a bottle. You could even clip a pacifier to her pajamas.

Good Luck,
K.

What about finding a Ragidy Anne costume? Or just a cute, and cheap dress. putting her hair in pig tails, using brown/black face crayons to make freckles on her nose and cheeks.
