I have very thin, fine hair and sometimes I spray hair spray on my hair brushes. I don't use spray on my hair....it's too thin and it makes it gunky. But when I get flyaways, putting hair spray on my brushes and letting it dry before brushing works really great.
Make sure all the hair is out of your brush. Spray some hair spray on it. Let dry and brush through.
It's always works for me.

Best wishes.

Agreed with a touch of condioner - I add conditioner and HOT water in a small spray bottle and I also have used a bounce dryer sheet - but I smush it onto the brush and then brush my hair - it helped!

I take a little bit of leave in conditioner/detangler (spray bottle) and spray it into the palm of my hand and apply to my hair. You may need to spray your brush with it if the static is really bad, but this works every time!

I found this out by accident.

Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray.

Really. Spray it on your hairbrush and on really static-y days, spray it on your dry hair. Just one spritz will do.

It IS expensive, but it's a miracle-worker. Also great for wrinkly clothes!

I went to New Orleans last year and had super flyaway hair the whole time. when I returned I asked my stylist about it and he said that hairspray (just a light spray, not shellacking (sp?) it down) is the best thing to combat flyaways.
