I am going on vacation to Mexico in 3 weeks and I am very afraid to go have my bikini area waxed, is there a product that I can use that would be better than shaving every day. I get really bad razor burn and it hurts like hell. Has anyone had a luck with those hair removal lotions? Any suggestions would help.

Get the wax!!!!!! I was in the same postion this past summer, and let my eyebrow wax lady talk me into a bikini wax. She was really good and it wasn't that bad. The results were worth it! I too get horrible razor burn. DO IT!

Enjoy Mexico!

Twice, I have tried and used Sally Hanson's hair removal wax strips. Downside - It was very painful and left several red spots that were actually bleeding. Upside- a couple of days later it was fine but didn't prolong shaving as long as I thought.
My advice would be to just go and have it done, I'll bet their technique still hurts a bit but isn't nearly as bad as trying to do it yourself. You'll probably get better results as well. I know that when I do my own eyebrows it hurts, but I barely feel a thing when I have it done at the salon.

I was a sad case.
My father was blond with lots of hair.
My mother is dark hair with barely body hair.
Go figures I was born with LOTS of thick black hair!
Top that with sensitive skin and very fast grow of hair.
Once I start shaving, my hair would grow the next day, all creams leave me with very sensitive red spots or burns. Wax was the best option but only the kind that it is hard wax and you have to heat it, because the soft ones or the pre-wax liners wont work, off course the hot wax hurt a LOT, first the burn then the wax.
If your hair doesn't grow to fast, and you can tolerate the pain, I would recommend go get wax, it does hurt but it would hurt less then when you are doing it, just check their wax is clean.
However I can tell you that what really worked for me was the laser removal, I wish I knew about it before (and afford it too) because to me was fantastic.
Is being like 6 years ago and the hair still gone!
Have fun in Mexico!

Hey When I was pregnant I bought that Smooth Away kit. I had those light hairs on my tummy and I was not shaving my stomach! Anyway...I ordered mine, but I've seen them at Target. I started to describe them for you, but....you would have just been like what the hell is this chick talking about..so..... Here is a link to Amazon..just so you can see what it is. I really like using them. Just put a little lotion on the area when you're finished.

......you are shaving with the direction of the hair or sideways..right? :-) just in case you don't do that

Magic Shave. It's a brazillian in a bottle, lol. It's sold in the ethnic care aisles at pharmacies, it's targeted to African American men to remove the hair on their heads. Some friends told me about it a few years ago and it works great! I use an old credit card to remove the cream & stubble and get a smooth finish with no razor burn.

Try the wax! The lady that did mine was super cool and we chatted the whole time, making it less akward, and time flew by. It didnt hurt that much either! I would rather have a wax done over getting blood drawn :)

I use a removal lotion for my upper lips that works fantastically well. I mean, it's made specifically for that area of the body, so I assume there is something made for the bikini area.
