It sounds like the very common condition called Keratosis Pilaris or KP as the dermatologist likes to refer to it.You can get creams and lotions from the derm that will help it to go away but it depends on how severe it is. I too have it and so does my 4yr old dtr. I have a very severe case and it has been very difficult to get rid of. It takes a regimen to get it under control. But see a dermatologist and they can recommend the best treatment because it is very treatable. Take care

I have the same thing, but I have no idea what to do about it, it's kind of funny because my fiance thinks it should hurt or something and I need medical attention for it. My mom has it to.

Yes!! My son and I both have it. He has had it since he was born and he is now almost 2. The doctor suggested hydrocortizone cream, but it did not seem to help much. He has it on his upper arms and entire legs. Mine is only on my upper arms. We have used Arbonne diaper rash cream on it and that really helped! Other than that, I don't know what works. I would really love to know though!

Hi!
I have the same condition on my upper arms. About 17 years ago, I was in a wedding and finally went to the dermatologist at U of M Hospital. He said the condition cannot be cured but can be lessened. (The name provided by one of the other responders sounds familiar but I really don't remember it.) I used a cream that was similar to Rogaine and after a month, the redness and size of the follicles reduced a bit. However, I couldn't be in the sun and once I stopped the cream, it came back. I don't know if it has moved down to my forearms or it's just more noticable because I was looking but it is there now, too (again, that's after 17 years). My mom said I've always had it and the doctor wasn't worried so I just forget about it. Maybe there is something more useful these days but I don't know.
Good luck!

Are they little red bumps? That's what I have and it drives me crazy! I have gone to the Dr. and tried a couple creams, but nothing seems to work. You could try it and see if it works for you, it's called Amlactin. You can get it at CVS, Walgreens. If it's not on the bottom shelf of the lotion aisle ask behind the counter. If you're breastfeeding you may not want to use it, I think it may have a small amount of steroid in it. Good luck sista, I know how you feel!
