Hello.

Can anyone recommend a gym class, you enjoyed, for a 9/10 month old? I live in the Arlington Heights area.

Thank you.

Beth,
They probably have a My Gym in your area .... check it out. We went to the one in Oak Park and they let us have a trial class before we joined.

Hi, my daughter, now 5 has been going to The Little Gym in Schaumburg since she was 2. They have great classes there. There is a class for your child with parent. They have different payment plans (all at once, tri-payment, or 5 payments). I know classes start again in September and end in January. Then a new session starts that runs until June. They have a website where you can check out the classes available and times. You also get a free trial class. My child loves it and the the teachers are really good with young children. They also offer make-up classes if you miss one, so you can just go another time.

I just recently participated in a FREE trial class at My Gym in Buffalo Grove on McHenry Rd near Lake Cook. (There used to be one in A.H. on Rand near Cubs Foods but it was closed due to location.) The classes last an hour and the teachers interacted with every child. Our 2yr old son had a great time and the classes start as young as 3 months. Our class seemed very age appropriate and the activities changed every 10-15 minutes or so along with free play & circle time at start and end of class. My Gym Corp. has recieved outstanding awards for being a well-organized and clean physical gym activity type class. Here is the link for the FAQ section of the Buffalo Grove class:

It is definitely pricier than our park district, but I think our son will get more out of it. He loved all the equipment especially the ball pit. This facility seemed very clean and the teachers were willing to answer all my questions, even the ones about how often they cleaned the play areas! I feel very confident about this facility and will be joining the fall class this week. Check it out and good luck!

I have to second Regan's recommendation of The Little Gym in Schaumburg. My 4 year old daughter has been going there since her 1st birthday. The classes at that age are parent/child classes. Check out the local business reviews (Activities/Lessons...Gymnastics), I know I put a recommendation on there for Little Gym, as well as others. The owner, Bill, is fantastic and really makes his business the wonderful place it is. Good luck in your search!
