Gymnastics and Dance for My 3 Yr Old

I recently took my daughter to The Little Gym for a class in gymnastics to get her involved with other kids outside of daycare and to help her coordination. I wasn't happy with this facility and didn't feel like she learned anything, except how to run around and scream for an hour. I really want her to learn the simple things like a somersault and things like that. Does anyone know of a place in Tulsa that is great with little kids, but has a big enough facility in case she gets older and wants to continue doing gymnastics competitively. I would love to find a place that had dance AND gymnastics so she can get involved in both. If anyone has any references, I would appreciate it!

What can I do next?

You might want to look into Tulsa World Gymnastics. http://www.tulsagymnastics.com/ My daughter just turned 2 so I haven't taken her there yet, but it looks really nice. They have a special area just for our childs age group. I saw a commercial on tv about it and that is what brought me to their homepage. They do mention having a workout area for mom's. I see from your other messages that you have joined a gym so that might not be helpful for you except that while you wait for your daughter you could walk on the treadmill and get your 50 minute cardio in! I just joined Just for Ladies Fitness and I really wish you went there because I have been looking for a work out partner too. Good luck with your daughter's gymnastics and dance.

i thought it was a weird coincedence that you moved to Tulsa in Dec cause that is when we moved back to Tulsa after being away for almost a year.
I know what does that have to do with anything?
I just thought it was funny.
ok as for dance and gymnastics when my daughter was 2-3 I took her to pazazz dance class.
The only thing is it is in Sand Springs, but that is a part of Tulsa and not too far away.
They offer Tap, Tumbling and Ballet for small children and they are very good.
they work with all the kids and even have performance for them several times during the year.
If I could afford to put both my children in I would think about them.
They also have classes for older kids if, as you said, she wanted to do it when she got older.

I'm not sure how their program works, but you might try Reed Park. I know they have gymnastics and I believe it starts at a young age. I took my son there for a while, but it was through a class that was set up with several other moms. So i'm not sure if you'll need to set up a group or if they have class already. The teacher was really good though and the price was reasonable when i did it. Anyway hope this helps

The Tulsa Parks services offer some great gymnastics classes for preschoolers on up. Just call your local park or pick up a Tulsa Parks guide for more info. The price is $25 a month for a once weekly class of 45mins. I don't know if they have dance or not, but the gymnastics classes are really nice. HTH
