I noticed yesterday that my 4 month old son's eye booger was green instead of the usual yellow color and today is has just started dishcarging a little and it's also green. My son always has his hands in his mouth and has just started rubbing his eyes when he's tired so i'm thinking he has been rubbing milk etc. into his eye and that has resulted in this green dishcharge. Do I need to rush him to the doctors for this?..he was at the doctors yesterday but the doctor just checked his ears to make sure they weren't infected he didn't look at his eye as this discharge hadn't started yet. He's had a cold so that may have something to do with it also. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can treat this before i make another trip to the doctor? Thanks for your advice!!

What can I do next?

It's probably due to his cold. When little ones get too congested it can come out through their tear ducts. It shouldn't be painful for him, but can be uncomfortable. I don't know if your doctor approved a decongestant like Pediacare, but you can ask. The only reason for a doctor's visit would be if he has a sinus infection, but if you were at the doctor's office yesterday, he should have diagnosed that. I would watch him for a day or two. If he doesn't get better or gets worse, take him back to the doctor.
Good Luck and many prayers!

keep an "eye" on it (no pun intended) as it could be as simple as a clogged tear duct (my kiddo had that) but it could also be pink-eye... that's going around..

Just call your dr's office and get their opinion. Most doctors will tell you if you need to bring them in or if it isn't something serious. Eyes are not something you should take anyone's opinion on except that of your physician.

Good luck to your little one!

My 15 month old has the same thing. The Dr. called it allergies. As long as it isn't tinged with pink I think you'll be okay.
