Hi Kara,

I think grandparents love homemade gifts from the grandchildren the best. Maybe personalize a craft with a photo of your kids such as an ornament. They have garden stone kits that your kids can make with your help. You can buy these at Michael's, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby. Your kids can stick their hand in the cement and make their handprint and they can stick in jewels.
Or have them decorate a large tile and decorate it with paint that can tolerate heat. This can be used to put hot plates on at the dinner table. You could also put their photo on a t-shirt, mug, etc... but this wouldn't be ready by tomorrow.

Slim chance here... but does your husband have a cousin named Dana and is your mil's name Lizzie?

Take care,
J.

We gave this gift for Christmas but it is cute for any holiday. I took puffy paints and drew a big heart on a tshirt then i had my children put their handprints on overlapping the hearts and wrote my grandchildren have a hold on my heart. It was inexpensive and the kids had fun. You can buy the supplies at Michaels, including the tshirts, good luck.

Last year I bought plain wooden frames at Michael's, had the kids paint them while I took pictures of them then gave them to the grandparents with the pics of the kids painting in the painted frame.

This year we're having them over for dinner and the kids are helping with the cooking. I picked recipes with kid do-able parts.

You can also have the kids just make cards for them -- maybe even glue in pics of themselves if you have some extras around.

Check on www.familyfun.com for ideas. Last Valentine's day my 3 year old made fudge for his grandparents by himself from a super easy recipe we found there (melt choc chips and condensed milk in the microwave, stir it up, pour it into a pan and press conversation hearts into it)

put together a small collection of Hershey's Hugs and Kisses! Each child can have their own little bag to give the grandparent. A note can include something like "Even when I'm not here, I want you to have some hugs & kisses from me! Happy Grandparents Day!

I usually do gift certificates for places that the grandparents take the kids, like the local ice cream shoppe or even McDonald's. Then I write a note that says the gift card is to be used on their next outing together.

Try www.sharemykidsart.com. We got the grandparents a calendar and they loved it!

One of the coolest things my daughter did for me once was make me framed pictures of the kids (snapshots of each) and the frames were painted popsicle sticks, with magnets on the back! They were also decorated with cute buttons and stuff.
Those pictures have never left my fridge! They are darling, I dont know where she comes up with these ideas!
