Callisters in MOA. I went in for one for the grandparents, and ended up with about 8 ornaments, they were all so different and cool. They do the personalization for free, prices are reasonable.
I am looking for cute grandma & grandpa ornaments for my parents and in-laws. I usually buy Hallmark ornaments, but I don't really like this year's grandparent ornaments. Anyone find any cute ones this year? I've thought about getting them made at Shutterfly, but they're more than I want to spend. I'm hoping to keep them $15 or under.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I wound up taking a really cute picture of my daughter in a santa hat and ordered ornaments from WalMart with that picture on them.

Go to snapfish.com. They have ornaments for under $15 that you can put the kids' pictures on! They have all kinds of other great gifts too. I got my mom & mother in-law the coasters with the cork bottom for mother's day last year and they turned out great! They keep them on their coffee tables in the living room - everyone love them!
a couple of ideas i've done is i get those clear ornament balls and once we put the kids handprints in paint on them with the date and a message, and another time we got pics or something sentimental that we could fit inside without destroying =) and had it dangle in with string
You can have some made with your daughter's picture on them at Walmart. You can upload the pictures and see what they look like on-line and they are usually relatively inexpensive...like $9.99 I think. They'll be delivered to your local walmart for your pick up.
If you do this I suggest you do it next week or early in December, because I've done it twice. Once early and I got them in time, and once at the last minute and the store lost my ornament......
If you order early you should avoid the rush and have no problem. I think they have 2 or three designs to choose from.
Hello
I don't know if this is what you are looking for but in a lot of the malls right now there are little kiosks that have a ton of ornaments on them that you can personalize. There are ones that say "Grandma" or "Grandpa" and there are tons more. Last year we got one that had three elves on it and personalized it with our daughter's name as well as her great-grandparents' names. They loved it! I know for sure there is one in Northtown mall near the fountain, if you live in that area.
Good luck!
When my daughter was very young...until she was too big to fit her hand on an ornament ball really...we did her handprint on the ball and the year..grandparents loved them and enjoy looking back at how different her hand was all those years (shes 13 now and makes an ornament on her own now usually)....I do home childcare and usually do something with handprints on an ball ornament for the parents....last year I did the handprints and after they dried I made them into a row of snowpeople (out of the fingers) with a poem on a card to go with..I just added the faces and a hat and scarf to each finger. Older toddler and up to early elementary kids love to show what they did and are proud to see them on the trees! I think this year we are doing footprints...upside down they can be made to resemble a holiday Tree...I will add the decorations.
I also love the ones at the kiosks at malls...one year a daycare parent got one done for me..a larger one that is a tree with ornaments on it...and a name on each ornament...the names of al my daycare kids I had that year! What a nice reminder!
You could always go to the kiosks in the mall the ones that sell ornaments and get one and but your daughters name on it and the year or if there are more grandkids you could put those names on it to. We have done this a couple of times with the new kids names on them each time there are more. My mom always loves them.
We have a place by us called Doin' the Dishes (50th & Xerxes in Minneapolis) and you can hand paint ornaments for $5 and then they fire them in a kiln and put a ribbon on them. My kids have been doing them for years, we started with just hand or foot prints, but now they are old enough to paint pictures and other things on the ornaments. I am sure there is a place by you, check online for a place that has unfinished pottery that you can hand paint etc... they will have ornaments too!
Homemade Ornaments are always a hit for Grandparents.
Do something with your Daughters handprint. You can buy kits at Michael's or surf the internet for ideas.
Good Luck.
You could paint your own ornament. If you do it soon, you will get your items back before christmas.
Try Paint-Your-Plate on Grand in St Paul or Lilypad Ceramics in Ramsey. It's fun, and your kids could paint too, which will make it more fun for the grandparents to receive an ornament that the grandkids decorated. Most of the ornaments were under $10. I was just at Lilypad Ceramics yesterday and there were alot of families doing ornaments for grandparents/cousins, etc.
Snapfish.com has several ornaments that can be made with your uploaded pictures. All of them are under $15 and if you order duplicates, its 25% off the additional ornaments.
