We just bought our first house in May and now that winter is coming I want to get the heat/ac unit serviced. I was just wondering if anyone has someone they like or trust and hopefully doesn't charge an arm and a leg.
Also has anyone ever had thier air ducts clean, if so did it make a difference?

If you live in the Memphis or Mid South area.Our company uses a great company for HVAC cleaning Called Cordova Heating and Air, it doesn't matter if you live in Cordova, there number is ###-###-#### ask for Linda and tell them you were referred by D. with Servpro of Bartlett/Cordova, also my company performs air duct cleaning, my husband is actually the one who does the actual cleaning. The air duct cleaning can be a little pricy but it makes a hugh difference. Air duct cleaning is recommended once evry five years. I can't see what area you are in. But in DeSoto County/Memphis area, Allen Heating and Air. Sean Allen is the owner, and will do a good job, without trying to oversell you something.

Check with your local heating and cooling places . . .a lot of times they can do it for about $30.00. My husband and I just bought a house and because ours happens to be gas heating, the gas company is actually comming out to clean it for $30. I hope this helps!

Also, we recently had to have our dryer vent cleaned out and used Duct Doctor (http://www.ductdoctor.com/). We haven't had our entire house ducts cleaned, but are thinking about it and will most likely use them again to do that! They will give you a free quote on the phone and have offices all across the U.S.

We have had good luck with William Nix of AC-Man ###-###-####). The first place we tried never returned our call. William called us back and was at our house within a couple of hours, even when it was late in the afternoon. Can't really comment on the price, as it's the first time we've had AC work done, but it seemed reasonable, and he was very courteous and professional. Hope that helps.
I can't refer anyone for heating and a/c service; haven't had the need yet ourselves. However, we used "Best Services" to have our air ducts cleaned. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM !!!!!!!
The guy that came was very courteous; but their approach and methods were ineffective period.
