I can't say enough GREAT things about Dr. Kathleen Mulligan on 14th Street + 9th Avenue.....been my doctor for 7 years now and I know like 10 other women from different facets of my life who also see her and love her.
Hi everyone,
Just want to say thank you for all your advices and referral. I am going to see Dr Allison Boester in 2 weeks at Cornell Weill, I heard she's great and the front desk person was very nice as well. That makes feel good.
So I'll keep you posted.
Thanks a lot

My OB is the BESTEST BESTEST! Dr. Andrea Dobrenis. She is affiliated with Cornell Medical School, so you'd give birth in the very nice Cornell Hospital on the Upper East Side. Dr. Dobrenis has kids of her own, has delivered a ton of babies (including mine!), and many Cornell nurses and doctors go to her when they are patients -- can't get a better endorsement than that! Only problem -- she doesn't take every insurance out there, so double-check. She was out of network for me, but still worth it. Could not recommend her highly enough!
Hi,
All my Brooklyn friends rave about Brooklyn Birthing Center, where several have given birth. I have an amazing midwife, Lonnie Morris, but she is up in Fort Lee, NJ.
Hope this helps!

I think a midwife would be great. They are very caring and not trapped in the rush race of a quick checkup that insurance companies force them into. Sandra Fields, ###-###-####. She has an office on West 71st Street.
I really enjoyed the women (doctors and midwife) who work at Spring ObGyn, had a very good experience there and recommend them highly. They are in Soho, ###-###-####
I felt that location was a big concern, and which hospital a doctor was affiliated with. Schlepping across town at 8 months pregnant for weekly appointments did not sound good to me, personally, so office location was important to me - that may not be important to you. If not, I can also recommend other doctors uptown.
Wish I had a name to give you, but almost as important - Do NOT go to Dr. Samantha Feder. I had a horrible experience with her.
Dr. Shawna Headly. She has a practice on East 43rd Street in Manhattan.
Hope this helps

BL,
I have two recommendations. First, Downtown Women. They are located on Broadway and Prince Street. Dr. Julie Shih from that practice delivered my son at NYU. They are a great, all-female practice. I really liked all of the doctors there.
Also, I recently changed doctors (only because Downtown Women stopped taking my insurance) to Dr. Katrina Bradley. She is located near Columbus Circle, also in an all-female practice. I was very impressed with her. She and her associates deliver at Roosevelt and there's even a great birthing center there for low-risk deliveries.
I don't have the phone numbers, but if you do a Google search, you'll find both practices/physicians.
Best of luck.

I have a wonderful OB/GYN in NYC. I recommend her to all my friends and her staff members are all great and friendly people.

It's somtimes hard to get an appt. with her if she has many patients who are close to their due dates...but she's worth it. She's very detail-oriented and very considerate.
Good Luck.
PS She's also affiliated with NY-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. SUPERB hospital where I had my daughter.
My OB is great- smart, compassionate, caring (and I hear the other drs in her group are good, too. She's w/NYU- Teresa Cheon on 37th Street. Good luck!
