I have the same problem, because of the iron in multivitamins. I find taking them on a full stomach will alleviate the problem. Good luck!
Hello Ladies...I recently started taking Women's One A Day vitamins. I had to stop after 5 days because I started feeling neauseated every day around the same time and my mouth would salivate beyond what you would concider normal when you are sick to your stomach. At first I thought maybe I'm pregnant. I took a few tests to check no missed cycles and no other symptoms and a negative test result each time. Saturday was the last time I took it and I actually threw up. I ate before taking it every time. I later googled the vitamin and feeling sick and there were several sites with questions posted about the very same thing I had felt. I think that I'm going to call the manufacturer today because they were almost $8.00 for the bottle and I can't take them not to mention I do not want to give them to anyone. Are there any recommendations for a good multi vitamin?? I really don't want to take 8 different pills every day to get the vitamins I need. I eat a lot of fruits and salads so I feel like I am getting some of what I need by the food choices I make. Suggestions please :o) Thanks!!

Hi!
I have the same problem with ANY adult multi-vitamin that I have tried. I asked my doctor. She told me to get children's vitamins and take 2 of them a day plus because I am post-menopausal - the doctor told me to take a calcium chew each day because the children's vitamins will not give me enough calcium. I take children's gummi vitamins now and not only do I get my vitamins but I also am getting a daily treat!
i have the same problem with my one a days. i thought it was the iron. i take them at night so i am sleeping when i would be nauseous. good luck!
My husband and I take http://www.YummyLiquidVitamins.com. Its a liquid and premixed so you literally "shake it and take it". Look at the free 3 minute video on the website, it's really packed with great things! I just took off my acrylic nails and have noticed the difference in how stong my real nails are, which has never happened before! Also, because its liquid, its absorbed by your body in as little as a few minutes whereas pills can take up to several hours! So check it out and let me know what you think! Good luck!
We had a speaker at work who said Flintstones were as good a multi-vitamin as any. (and they probably won't upset your tummy!)
My associate who is a naturpath has given me guidelines for vitamins etc.
Food based vitamins are ideal. Liquid does get absorbed with greatest ease.
NO! Flintstones are not as good as any other vitamin!
Juice Plus is excellent. That is from personal experience with my doula clients.
Good that you are eating plenty of fruit and salads. Yet, your plate is missing greens such as: kale, chard, collards, all types of squash. You can eat summer squash in a salad, and add nuts and seeds to salads. Whole grains and legumes are very nutrient dense. Think about looking @ your plate as a rainbow. Include as many colors as you can.
As far as price, many good vitamins that do not contain fillers, sugar, wheat, dairy, or other allergens do cost a bit more, but are worth it.
If you want to go to a store and check these out. Look at My Organic Market(MOM's).
Hope this helps.

I’ve always had the nausea problem with name-brand vitamins (my daughter, too). Someone told me a long time ago that it wasn’t the vitamins themselves, but whatever substance they use to “bind” the vitamins together into the pill form. Anyway, I did find one brand that NEVER makes me queasy. If you have a Safeway supermarket in your area, the Safeway store brand of multi-vitamins has always worked for me. If not, try some other grocery store brands. I’m guessing they are probably all made by the same manufacturer. Good luck!
Hey J.,
I'm with Natalie....I take the same ones and I felt a noticeable difference in about 4 weeks. I don't leave home without them. Good call, Natalie!!
I have been taking Juice Plus for 7 years now. It is 17 different fruits and veggies in a capsule or soft chew. It is a whole food product. That is why I like it so much. I have never cared for isolated vitamins and knew I was not eating the 9 to 13 servings of fruits and veggies a day to help prevent disease. Take a look at my website www.StudiesOnJuicePlus.com It is backed by published, peer reviewed studies.
Good luck!
I take Alive! multivitamins. I get them at Wal-Mart (when they are in stock). I like them b/c they have more than vitamins and minerals they also have fruits & veggies. The best supplement to take is Juice Plus (all veggies & fruits) but they are way too expensive for me (even if you are a distributor, which I was for a while) - they run about 40.00 month - but they were great! You can order them on-line. If you can afford them, that would be the way to go. Alive! does not have the exact ingredients, but it works for me.
I use a multi-vitamin and mineral made by Nature Made which you can get at Giant, CVS and other various stores. I haven't had any problems with them and have been taking them for over 20 yrs. They have changed the formula a bit but overall have been good for me along with a few supplements that my chiropractor gave me to take to help out in various areas. You can sign up on their website and log in your points and they send you a $7 coupon or other coupons to get one free. I usually use when it's buy 1 get 1 free and save a lot of money. Healthway and Whole Foods also have vitamins that are natural and good for you and if you have allergies they help you find one that won't affect you.
Hi, J. - The vitamins that I take are guaranteed to make you feel better, or your money back. Should they make you sick, you could also get your money back. They are scientifically proven to be more absorbable than any other vitamin on the market. Feel free to contact me for more info. Good luck! N.

Hi! I haven't had that problem with One A Days, but I take them at night. My OB suggested that when my prenatal vitamins made me nauseous, and I just continued it when I went back to normal multivitamins. Maybe try taking them right before bed if you don't want to throw them away.
Any regular over the counter multi-vitamin should be fine. If you're eating a balanced diet you should be good.
I love Rainbow Light Vitamins. I started with their prenatal vitamins and have been brand loyal for over a decade. They are Green Food Based, are filled with all the good stuff and none of the sugar and other additives that your body does not need. I can tell without a doubt when I take them and if I forget, I feel healthier have more energy and feel more in balance. They have several types, some are one pill a day, I choose to take the one that is 6 pills a day because it works for me. I must eat before I take my pills or they give me a tummy ache. You can find Rainbow Light on line or at a health food store like The Vitamin Shoppe. They are not cheap but they are excellent vitamins. I have suggested them to many people and everyone who takes them become loyal Rainbow Light Vitamin Takers.
Oligo is a great line. They have a multi vitamins for women, mend, over 50, and prenatal (and for kids too), calcium, and a host of others. They are better quality than you find in the pharmacy or other stores and are made so you actually absorb more of the nutrients. For more info, go to www.LiveTotalWellness.com/madden,
My rx prenatal vitamins do the same thing to me. I take them before I got to bed and that does the trick. When I'm not pregnant, I take the generic Costco Centrum multi-vitamins. It's around $10 for 300 or 500 vitamins so you can't beat the price and they have never bothered my stomach.
