I am looking to find a reliable, responsible and trustworthy housekeeper in the Olathe area. My husband is very hesitant to get a housekeeper because he is worried about people being in our house when we aren't there. Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks to everyone for your responses regarding house cleaning. I was/am amazed at the number of responses and ideas I received. My husband and I are currently looking into one of the services that was recommended. I am hoping it works out and that I am able to stop stressing out about keeping my house clean, and really focus on my family!! Thanks again to everyone!!! I have a great housekeeper in the Olathe area. Her name is Bia and she is from Brazil, she and her daughters come and do a whirlwind on your house!! She doesn't speak a lot of English (her daughters do though), but I just get on translator.com and leave her notes. They do a great job of cleaning, they clean stuff I never would have!! I have used a company called Mary's Home Cleaning for several years, and have been very pleased. They are also very highly rated on Angies List. Maria's number is ###-###-####, and her husband David's is ###-###-####. I believe they clean all over the metro, although you would have to check. I am very comfortable with Maria and her helpers in my home and around my children. They have a key and I trust them completely.

I understand your husband's concerns. I felt the same way. I would suggest you start with using a service, rather than an individual. Call a couple of services and interview them to see who you feel comfortable with (I used to use Cottage Care). Then after awhile you might change to an individual, who are usually less expensive. I did that and was very happy with the results. The individual I used was Aimee Scott and you can reach her at ###-###-####.
