Hello everyone,
I just moved back to Illinois after being in Texas for 3 years. I LOVED my OB GYN and my daughters pediatrician there, but I know need to find someone here that I love just as much. If you have an suggestions for either an OB GYN or a Pediatrician please let me know. I am currently in the Schaumburg area. I also am curious about which hospitals are good for delivering. Thanks for any help you can give!

As other women on here, I like Alexian Brothers Hosp. in Elk Grove. I just delivered twin girls there last month. I see Dr. Pozzi ###-###-####. He did my c-section and I had no complications. He is in the Wimmer Building attached to Alexian Brothers Hosp. There are 3 male doctors there and a physician assistant and an ultrasound tech. Welcome back to IL and good luck!

K.- I can't help you with a ped or ob/gyn in the Schaumburg area since I live in Wheaton. However, I absolutely love Central Dupage Hospital for delivering!! It's about 15-20 minutes from Schaumburg (my sister lives in Schaumburg) I delivered my twin sons there in September & was also an inpatient for 6 weeks on complete bed rest. The nurses are excellent & the hospital was remodeled within the last couple of years which it looks more like a hotel than a hospital. Very clean & very friendly. Five Thumbs up for CDH.

Dr Fred Duboe with Northwest Associates for Womens Healthcare. He is GREAT! I highly, highly recommend him. The office is located in Hoffman Estates next to St. Alexius Hospital which is a great hospital for delivering as well.
As far as a pediatrician, Dr. Beth Clingan, she is with the Associates in Pediatrics. She is wonderful! I switched to her a few years back because I wanted a female doctor for my daughter and I just love her. The other doctors in the practice are all fabulous as well. You can't go wrong. Depending where you are located in Schaumburg, they have an office in Streamwood off Schaumburg road. Good luck on your search and I hope this helps!

Hi K.,

Welcome back! I go to an OB in Rolling Meadows (at Meacham and Algonquin) and my son's pediatrition is on the same floor. I really like my OB and I LOVE my son's pediatricion. (Both Dr. Mike and Dr. Charles)

As for delivering, I delivered at Northwest Community and LOVED it. I'm due in Sept with baby #2 and even though we've moved and the drive will be a bit longer, I plan to deliver there again. (Let's just hope the baby will hold on until we get there!)

Pediatric & Adolexcent Center
Dr. Mike Slavik or Dr. Charles Slavik (he's Dr. Mike's dad)

Women's Health First
Dr. Lori Warren (There are 5 doctors in her practice)

Northwest Community Hospital is in Arlington Heights on Central Avenue.

Good luck and if you'd like specifics about either doc, let me know.

We had our son at St. Alexian in Hoffman Estates, great hospital. Had complications and our son had to be in NICU for 10 days, they took great care of both of us. They recommended Drs. Bedingfield & Rosewell as a pediatrician for our son. They are great, have a great talk time where you can call with concerns and they will call you back promptly, also get same day sick visits, separate waiting rooms for sick and healthy children, and have a great philosophy focusing on preventative medicine and nutrition, not just medication.

Had a good OBGYN too, Comprehensive Women's Center in Hoffman Estates. ###-###-####

I love the doctors at WomanCare. It's a group office and their 4 Ob/Gyn's (3 Men 1 Woman)are all very approachable. The have two locations that I go to, one in Arlington Heights on Rand near 53 and one in Schaumburg on Roselle near Schaumburg Rd.
The Schaumburg location is downstairs from Drs. Schwartz (Sam and Dave), who I really like, too.
I had my son (and an earlier surgery) at Northwest Community and I can't recommend it strongly enough. They were wonderful! The nurses were attentive and caring and the lactation consultants were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable.

I can not say enough wonderful things about the group of doctors OB/GYN's from Female Healthcare Associates. They have an office in Elk Grove Village and Bloomingdale and 2 others I think but farther from you. They work out of Alexian Brothers Hospital and they are just wonderful. I delivered at Alexian Brothers and loved it. My nurses were wonderful and I think they have finished remodeling by now. I only have the number for the Bloomingdale office but I am sure they can give you the number for the Elk Grove office. It is ###-###-####. Hope this helps.

My OB/GYN, Dr. Yockey, is fantastic. She's in Elk Grove Village (right next to Schaumburg). In fact her office is in one of the buildings attached to Alexian Brothers Hospital(which is where I delivered and had a great experience). She also has a nurse midwife, Nicole Quigley, that I just LOVE. In fact I've started seeing Nicole for my annuals and such instead of Dr. Yockey (although Dr. Yockey is absolutely wonderful as well). Here is her website: http://advancedwomenscarecenter.com/index.htm
As far as pediatricians go we see two brothers- Dr. Schwartz (Sam and Dave). We like Dr. Dave a little better. They are both good doctors (better then the ones we had before)but Dr. Sam's appearance takes some getting used to. The staff at their office is very, very nice. Their information is
455 S Roselle Rd
Schaumburg, IL 60193

Whatever you do- don't go to Dr. Poonawalla and Dr. Awtramani- they are terrible!

Hi K. -
Welcome back to IL. I'm sure you didn't miss the Chicago Winters! I too live in Schaumburg & go to a pediatric group called Children's & Teens on Wise Rd, West of Roselle road about 2 miles. I see Dr Summerfeld - but love Dr Megahed & all the others actually! They have great hours & good at answering all your questions.

As for a OB/GYN - I went to Woman Care in Arlington Hts on Central Rd right next to Northwest Community Hospital. I love Dr Cooperman. I delivered my son at Northwest Community last September - and I have to say - I was not impressed. My labor/delivery experience was excellent. But the nursery/recovery area was less than stellar. I felt like they were holding my son prisoner there longer than they needed to for things that were not serious issues (jaundice levels & weight loss - which my pediatrician confirmed 2 days later were not alarming at all) which all resulted in me having insurance issues because they said my stay was too long! (50 hours vs 48 hours - seriously!). Since that is the only hospital my OB/GYN's deliver at - that is where I had to go. Growing up in this area though - I will say Alexian Brothers is an excellent hospital. I delivered my daughter there almost 15 yrs ago and my father received all his cancer care through them.

Side note - Central DuPage is NOT 15 mins away - its a good 30 minutes. My boyfriend lives less than a mile away from there.

Good luck!
