Good Cleaner for Tub

I saw Kirstie Alley on Oprah one day, and she said she used to clean homes. She recommended cheap Vodka or rubbing alcohol. I use the latter to clean everything!!! It's safe and dries instantly. Everything is gleaming. HTH!!

Whatever you use, use it with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I use Method Grapefruit spray cleaner and a magic eraser the RINSE, RINSE, RINSE!!! She'll be good to go.

Vinegar and baking soda. Or I really like Baby Ganics tub cleaner. I buy it at Babies R Us, I liked it so much for the kid's bathroom I started using it in our shower and it does a great job of getting rid of the crud that remains on the textured shower pan unlike just about every other cleaner I've used.

baking soda and water will get off grime and some hard water. If you want to sanitize it spary with thet Clorax Multi Surface spary. It's light, not bleach, it smells good, and ifyou only use it once in a while it shoudl be fine. I don't recall the exact name for it, but it's in a long slender white bottle. You can use it on toys too!

If you want organic, I really like Meleluca products, but I think you have to find someone who sells it. I use to buy it from someone when I lived somewhere else, haven't really look here though.

I use all natural Melaleuca products (http://www.melaleuca.com) it is a membership company that you have to sign up for, but I seriously love all their cleaning and health and beauty products and swear by them. Baking soda and lemon. Cut the lemon in half and use it as a scrubber to apply the baking soda. Do you know anyone with a lemon tree? :)

1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water in a spray bottle will take off soap scum.

If you use LOC (liquid organic cleaner) in the water (by Amway) it is safe, bubble like bubble bath (which you do not use with girls esp.) it is harmless and cleans the tub at the came time. I sell Amway and it is cheap for a quart size bottle. I have one customer with 4 boys and she buys 4 bottles at a time, wouldn't do without it.

I use Comet and a toilet bowl brush that was bought for scrubbing the tub. If you are rinsing the tub it should be clean when you are done. If you aren't getting the residue out then you are not cleaning it at all.

I use the Melaluca tub & tile for weekly cleaning and spray down with the Method Ylang-Ylang daily tub and shower product in between to keep the bathroom fresh smelling.
I guess if your daughter has sensitve skin that reacts to things, best to start with a baking soda mixture stated below.

I use baking soda. It works great and rinses clean.

I like Shaklee scour off. Their prices are a bit more, but all natural products. You have to buy them through a distributor. I use this in place of comet, good for stoves & so much more.

Or, just plain vinegar should do it!

I use the magic eraser without any additional product. If there is a build-up or residue you may need to go with the lemon and baking soda method, but it's easily maintained with a magic eraser on a weekly basis.

Side note- if you are just transitioning her from a baby bath to a full size bath you may want to do it gradually. Put the baby bath inside of the tub and put a little water in the tub. Start out with her in her bath and let her try the big tub. Some kids wig out when you first put them in the bath tub because it seems so big and scary to them.

Hi Alli - we just use Scrubbing Bubbles. If you rinse the tub thoroughly, there shouldnt be any residue left over at bathtime.

We use fantastic and rinse with lots and lots of water.

Method Tub and Tile cleaner. It's made of natural ingredients and not harsh chemicals so it rinses well and even if a little gets left behind it's not a problem for your daughter. I just used it to scrub my tub tonight before I put my 19 month old in it!!

You didn't mention what your tub is made of - acrylic, enamel, cultured marble? Different cleaners for different surfaces. And in essence, all cleaning materials can be washed away with water and a clean rag leaving no residue.
