Going to San Francisco for weekend....want to Buy Hubby a Gift

I'm going to San Francisco to visit a friend this weekend. My husband is staying home with our 2 kids. My friend and I will be exploring the city on Friday and I'd like to pick up something for my husband for Father's Day. He's a typical, difficult to buy for kind of guy. Anyone who knows the area able to suggest shops to check out?

What can I do next?

Here's a local fashion blog that had an article about the best men's shopping in SF: http://www.refinery29.com/the-best-menswear-shops-in-san-...

Other than that, as Osohapi mentioned, there's an Agent Provocateur store on Geary, right near Union Square... ;)

OOH HAVE FUN!!!

San Francisco is soo much fun!!

Go to the Pier 39 or Fisherman's wharf...there are a ton of shops there. Towards the end of Pier 39 is Bubba Gump Shrimp and they have a gift shop. At the start of Pier 39 is the Hard Rock Cafe

If he likes chocolate, there's Ghiradelli - it's on the opposite end from Pier 39 - it's a walk - a LONG walk - but you will see sooo much along the way!! There is a bread shop (Boudin's) that sells their bread - will ship it to you as well - and they have GREAT mustard and other things if you browse through the shop.

If you have the time - take the Alcatraz Cruise tour - it's a cool tour.

Ghiradelli's is okay - you are at the end of the wharf - it's up on a hill - you can't take the tour anymore - you walk in and all the chocolate is there like a normal store - just all of it Ghiradelli.

Hope you have a wonderful time and happen upon something that "calls" to you!!

Just a regular souvenir but a really good gift card from his favorite shop: Cappellas? Ace? Home Depot?

Go to the Pier. You can buy so many things there. It will be fun for your friend and you. You can go to Boudin's Bakery and get him an alligator shaped bread or a turtle one. You can grab him some other souvenirs too.

I was going to suggest some Ghiradelli chocolate too, but then I remembered that we also have a Ghiradelli store here in Chicago, so that might not be all that special.

When I was in San Francisco in high school we went to Chinatown and I got some cute items from some of the shops there. REALLY cute and unique stuff. My dad still has the gift I got for him.

Ghirardelli chocolate really isn't that great. It's from SF, but that's about all I can say for it.

What about a cool t-shirt? If he's into music, for instance, go to Amoeba Music and get him one.

Pier 39 will have all sorts of shops to explore, so you may find something there.

Have a good trip!

My never miss spot is the Buena Vista on Hyde street by the water down by the wharf. You can get there on the trolley line. The legend is they made the first Irish Coffee in the states. You can buy irish whiskey sets with mugs and the story. I've given as gifts before. Even if you don't get it for your husband you should check it out. Have fun!
