FASFA is not applicable to a Proprietary School it costs $14,000 to do this and I really want to do this I sell Mary Kay and am really intrested in beauty I cut my own hair and dye it and constantly playing around with color and makeup. I have never ever wanted anything more in my life but it is a lot of money and I cant start until I get $7000 and then I cant make payments of $775 a month. I need some ideas from where I cant get the money. There is not any help from my family and loans are not a option. What do I do??

I went to The Paul Mitchel Cosmetology School and I was absolutely allowed to use FAFSA and student loans and even pell grants (which you don't have to pay back). It makes no sense that you can't use this, is this school not certified? If you go to a legitimate cosmetology school, they will have a financial aid adviser who helps you apply and get your loans, pell grants and scholarships. Otherwise, I would stay away from the school, something here isn't right and probably not legitimate.

FAFSA is nothing more than the "application" for financial aid. Start by asking the school for help. If the school will not help you or tells you that they do not accept government grants or loans, that is a huge red flag, and you should consider looking elsewhere for a reputable educational institution.

Have you talked with their financial folks? Cause they will need some sort of easier ways to pay for school if it doesn't accept FAFSA. They need to make money somehow, so there has got to be an easier way.
I would suggest looking up different really famous makeup/hairstylist and see if they have education scholarships. They often times do as a tax break. I know when my sister went to beauty school she has financial aid/payment plans. Which school are you going to? My sister went to Paul Mitchel and went when she had NO money. Keep digging, you'll find away.

What is FASFA? Is that financial aid? How about student loans? The school should be able to hook you up with some student loans.

Look into an AVEDA cosmetology school... they have financial aid and you can go full or part time. I did it 5 yrs ago and love what i do :)
Good luck to you!
