Hey ladies, I need some help. We are on a tight shopping budget and I need to shop for more gluten free pastas, and such. I know a lot more stores have been carrying little products here and there and putting them on sale here and there but that's not enough. Unfortunately I don't have time to keep up with the sales. I need to find a dependable place I can shop regularly that's close enough (Smoky Hill and E-470) that I can take advantage of. I am willing to go as far as Chambers and Hampden. I know of Sprouts and Sunflower and Vitamin Cottage markets but haven't been too pleased with their prices on shelved items. Have any of you found gluten free products at the international stores that you can recommend? Like rice pastas that are gluten free? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am ready to have my mom shop for me at Trader Joe's in CA and ship it to me but I may end up paying the difference in shipping....
Thanks again!!

What can I do next?

Try Asian Markets for Rice based products-----pasta and possibly breads/crackers. Also an affordable scratch baked good substitute when baking at home is to substitute each cup of flour with:
3/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons of Buckwheat (only wheat is in the title)
Mixed with
2 slightly rounded tablespoons of Quinoa

Have you tried Amazon? They have a ton of GF food and some if it qualifies for free shipping. You have to buy by the case in many instances but it's something to look at.

I personally do not have experience shopping for gluten free items, however I heard a mom talking about Whole Foods having a great selection of gluten free products. When I commented how expensive Whole Foods can be, she mentioned the Whole Foods web site actually has coupons which can be downloaded. Good Luck!

You don't have to travel further than Denver, actually. There are several bake shops that make breads, cakes and muffins and several restaurants as well - Olive Garden has a gluten free menu and so does Beau Jo's Pizza.
