We need to go to the state park and go down to the creek and see the dinosaurs tracks. You can get down there and touch them it is really cool.
We are planning on going to Glen Rose and Granbury for a couple of days in July. We know we want to drive through the Wildlife Park and visit the dinosaurs. Does anyone have other recommendations? Also, we are looking for a hotel that is not too expensive, but very kid-friendly with a great pool.

The canoe trips in Glen Rose are awesome. They provide everything and the scenery is awesome. The kids really like it. Go early to avoid the heat and think about a short trip if you have little ones!
You can stay in either Glen Rose or Granbury. Granbury is not too far away and has a lot more choices in hotels. Granbury also has lots more choices in places to eat!
It has been a couple of years since we have been there, so I don't want to recommend a specific place in case it has gone downhill.
But we have done this trip 3 times with our kids and we always stay in Granbury, particularly because of the food choices (cici's, chili's, etc.)
It is a really fun trip! Last time we went, if you were a member of the Dallas Zoo you received a discount to Fossil Rim.
Check to see if Wed. is still 1/2 price day at the wild life park

The hotels in Glen Rose are much much nicer. The Best Western there has won awards, and has fossils on display in the lobby and free snacks - very cool for the kids! Both hotels have pools and one has an indoor pool although in July indoor/outdoor probably doesn't matter. All the hotels there are virtually brand new so I would really recommend them.
There is a very large public swimming pool in Glen Rose (Oakdale Park) as well as a park called Big Rocks that is on the river. Fun and free splash time. Oakdale Park also rents cabins if you're interested in a little more rustic without television and telephone (they're furnished with linens, a/c, and a flushing toilet like a hotel room so it's not like really roughing it). They have a playground in addition to the huge pool. The only thing is that they book up very quickly.
There is also a place called Heritage Park near the river. The City took a few 19th century era log cabins that survived in various places around the county to this park, plus there is a playground there. Heritage Park is also free.
