My daughter has been in a dance/tumbling class since Jan. The performance is coming up and we want to give each of the kids a small gift. We were thinking flowers for the girls, but what do we get the boys? Any idea would be helpful. Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all your great ideas! I decided to do cookies on a stick. Who doesn't like cookies? LOL!

My son did dance last year (he was the only boy). The recital happened to be on his birthday, so I brought a big cookie cake for after the recital. Everyone loved it - kids and parents. You might want to consider something like that.

Boy's love Metals or buttons with #1 ribbons. Party City has some very cute things! Also, balloons are always a hit if you can get them there! Good Luck!

My vote would be to skip giving something to the classmates, and instead either give the teacher a gift or organize the other parents to provide a nice gift for the teacher, such as the idea about a signed t-shirt (get the kids' hand prints in paint).

As a parent of older kids, I look back and remember too many times when kids were giving stuff that was really unnecessary. Why teach them that they should get a "party favor" at every event? I threw away most of those sorts of gifts after they junked up their rooms for too long.

Candy is appreciated by the kids, but many have diet restrictions for various reasons, and parents giving out candy makes it hard on them. (I had one of those kids.)

This isn't a gift-giving event.

I'm new to this website, but, I think that some fruity gummy bears or healthy-type cookies would be a hit with the boys.

Why don't you give all of them a small gift bag with stickers in it? Another thought would be a small bag with one or two nice (bakery style fancy) cookies.

I think that's what I'm going to do for the other students in my daughters dance class. I figure they'll all be getting flowers from their parents at the recital so I was going with something different.

For our daughter's dance recital we did flowers, but I think those cookies on a stick are adorable and they can be personalized, etc.

Flowers for the boys too. In the "grown up" dance performances, they give male performers flowers.

How about a special t-shirt signed by you and other sponsors/teachers?

I used this idea for parties and such. Everyone loves it....
Buy solid color small pillow cases and multi fabric markers or paint pens. Becareful around their costumes!!! Let each kid sign everyones. It is a great "keeper" and perfect for any traveling events. I usually do the main design on the front.... 'blah blah soccer team' or whatever the event is. Good luck! You can usually get the pillow cases cheap. Check the dollar general and such.

Look under just for kids. They can be topped with stuffed animals, suckers, silk flowers, etc.

Special bulk pricing would apply.

Hi H. - I am a dance teacher and I've ssn tons of diferent gifts over the years one of the best was little tropies and a close second was little medals (like Olympic medals) both of these make the kids feel like they had accomplished something and did it very well - much eaier then food too. Have fun!
